Rough Luxe Hotel

Retro derelict-chic kind of place. VERY small, only 6 rooms total. I wanted to like it more, because its a cool concept, but it was just a bit too small. You had to be strategic with where you put your stuff; there just wasn't enough room for ANY suitcase at all. Communal breakfast was nice, and service super friendly. If ...

    Drink Shop & Do

0.09 mi from Rough Luxe Hotel

My friend's baby shower was held here. We opted for afternoon tea and an activity which was themed for the event. The afternoon tea was okay, some of the breads were interesting, we had a red bread with hummus that we couldn't work out (why was it red? It didn't taste any different). The cakes were nice and the scones ...

Best place near Kings Cross to have a quick drink, coffee, snack or meeting...with wifi and a legitimately great menu. Worth it on so many levels.

Good if slightly uptight bar and bistro in the Renaissance hotel. On busy nights, they'll want you to look the part, but they're far from the worst in London about that. Good menu and drinks selection.

    Royal Thai Restaurant

0.17 mi from Rough Luxe Hotel
    1 review

King's Cross is a busy area filled with tourists, students, and cheap kebab shops. Nonetheless, the area is sprinkled with a few exciting places to eat, and Royal Thai is one. With about 10 tables and no liquor license, it's intimate, the food is fresh (I had a delicious spicy beef salad) and, amazingly, they let you bring your own ...

It's serviceable. Had coffee and a sandwich here not long ago. The staff are polite and it is clean, which is about all you;d expect anyway. Not too crowded in mid-afternoon but heaving at lunch.

This "chippy" serves old-skool fish and chips. That's it. There are different kinds of fish to choose from, and a relentlessly retro atmosphere. It's also cheap, and in central London.

    Diwana Bhel Poori House

0.66 mi from Rough Luxe Hotel
    3 reviews

They say that London has great Indian food, but to be honest I was only mildly convinced until I came to Diwana. An extremely casual place near Euston Station, the menu is simple: Pooris (little fried balls filled with potatoes, chick peas, or other treats and covered in a sweetly sour yoghurt sauce) as starters, with a selection of dosas ...

Delish American breakfast and brunch in Islington, for reasonable prices. It gets crowded, so either go early or be prepared for a drowsy wait in line.

    Indian Veg

0.54 mi from Rough Luxe Hotel
    2 reviews

Go on, have seconds. And thirds. This all-you-can-eat Indian vegetarian buffet is just £5 and you can even bring your own beer (or guzzle tap water if you are abstemious or on a really draconian budget). Eating alone? No need to bring a book, as you can lazily skim the text heavy vegetarian propaganda lining the walls throughout your meal.

This is a regular haunt of mine - the food is fantastic. You can't book ahead and the queues at this branch quickly build - look online at the other locations which can often seat you quickly. Try the prawn starters!

    Bea's Of Bloomsbury

0.71 mi from Rough Luxe Hotel
    5 reviews

Bea's is a pint-size place that serves excellent homemade cakes and marshmallows, and a wonderful afternoon tea. I can still taste the cupcake with herb cream cheese frosting that was my introduction to the place. Classic, yet inventive. Tiny, but will occupy plenty of space in your heart.

    Ciao Bella

0.52 mi from Rough Luxe Hotel
    5 reviews

Ciao Bella somehow creates the chaotic crowded atmosphere of an Italian trattoria that paradoxically creates leisure and seclusion for the diner. The waiters are so busy they don't have time to pester you about pudding. The wine list includes some lesser known Italian deliciousness, and the menu is authentic if somewhat anglicized. A great standby, not too pricey, in central ...

I suggest getting the Katsu Curry Chicken. I had the vegetarian version of the Katsu Curry as well and they were both good. The vegetarian version was made with breaded sweet potato, eggplant, and squash. The sauce is amazing! I love Wagamama. I need to live by one.

Best Restaurant I have been so far. It is something very special. The atmosphere, the food and the drinks are unbelivable! It is an asian fusion kitchen. Best, best best! You do have to reserve 2 weeks in advance to get a table though!

My friend and I decided to check out Fitzrovia and we happened upon Roka. We were attracted by the fishbowl design of the restaurant and the huge wooden front doors. Good thing about eating lunch at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon is there was no wait. However, that is not to say the restaurant wasn't busy. I reckon you have ...
