I'm recommending this bookshop not only for its excellent selection of books and tempting bargains, but also because its knowledgeable staff has a genuine love of books and always finds the time for a little chat. It also sells cute pencil boxes, mugs and book related gifts.

Eclipse is kind of a neighborhood bar/club that offers good drinks, good atmosphere and good music. I liked that it was close by and seemed to attract a pretty diverse crowd of young professionals.

Harrods is not just a department store, it is a tourist destination! It is almost always crowded and when there's a sale?! forget about it! They really need to institute crowd control procedures....for every one's safety. Can't get in the way of a great deal of the devoted shopaholic! The store itself is interesting with themed rooms and a stop ...

I thoroughly enjoyed the Natural History Museum. It set in a old grand building and has interesting exhibits pertaining to botany, zoology, etc. When I went, they had a fantastic amateur photography exhibit on natural wild life. I'm not a science buff by any means, but I still appreciated what this museum had to offer.

The V&A is likely to have a wing dedicated to whatever floats your art and design boat, as well as a brilliant selection of rotating special exhibitions. The building itself is gorgeous, with a courtyard made for contemplating the fabulous-ness of your life and tired-ness of your feet. Like most museums in London, it's also free.

I lived within walking distance (something I did not even realise) until a friend took me to The Orangery. Which was fantastic. If you're going to do tea and scones, in London, why not at the grounds of Kensington Palace? The gardens are also spectacular in the spring, do not miss!

Wonderful venue, and one of the London landmarks that tell the tale of Victoria and Albert, the great love affair of modern UK history. The acoustics were pretty bad, until mushroom-shaped buffers were hanged on the ceiling.

From its original home in north London in 1985 via its temporary home on the banks of the River Thames to its present day site, occupying part of a former school for the children of military widows, there's no denying that Charles Saatchi's eye for contemporary art has done as much to shake up the establishment as it has to ...

Beautiful memorial at the base of Kensington Gardens, the Albert Memorial is a very "deep" memorial because of the multiple layers of stories it tells: Victoria's love for Albert, GB's height of world colonization with the Union Jack never saw a setting sun, and the wonderful workmanship that is this memorial.

Peaceful garden next to the Thames in Chelsea. Very interesting in that all the plants are grown for medicinal purposes. Look for the only Grapefruit tree growing outdoors in England.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, little has changed since the 60's in this Old Brompton Road classic. It's up beat, laid back and full of character... oh and a lot of old pots/pans/pictures/signs/wooden object, something for every antiques fan. It opened in 1954, originally as a folk venue, it was a heaving hotbed of talent. Anyone who's anyone ...

The cavernous space in Earls' Court Exhibition Centre is ready for transformation into a sports arena, convention centre, or whatever takes your fancy. Okay, whatever takes the fancy of a company large enough to reserve the venue. Between two Tube stations at Earls' Court and West Brompton, most Londoners end up here sometime, for some event.

Get your intellect on, with a glass of wine, at the Dana Centre. With varying lectures and artsy presentations on scientific topics, this is a great way to learn more about dreams or the Big Bang in the company of hip Londoners and accomplished scientists - and an excellent example of a Big Smoke style modern mashup event.
