Dim Sum at weekends at Royal China is a very London thing to do. Chinese friends took me to the place, then Londoners took me back, so full marks all around. Expect a wait, but the food is good and reasonably priced.Recommended for:Foodies

Part of being local in London is eating your way around the world, without leaving the city's borders. Royal China, the original location in Queensway, serves excellent dim sum at reasonable prices. We'd highly recommend it on a Saturday afternoon, perhaps followed by a stroll through Kensington Gardens.

Pretty good dim sum by California and Asia standards - but fantastic by London standards. Case in point? Shanghai pork dumplings were juicy and the meat was flavourful and tender, but the skin wasn't up to Din Tai Fung standards. Go before noon to beat the super long wait on weekends - but turnover on tables is pretty fast anyways.
