RUBY SKYE. If you're into House, techno, or electronic-style music, this is the club for you. From the outside, the club looks pretty posh, with the red carpet and dynamic interior. The music pumps non-stop, and after a few hours, it all starts to sound the same, with only the beats changing here and there... or seemingly to blend together... and then drone on and on... and on...
Large dance floor on the bottom level with a full bar on each side, and a central stage in the center where dancers perform. Upstairs, is a nice mezzanine area with a balcony overlooking the dance floor.
Came here once for a Halloween party; not too bad. They also invite many famous DJs to host parties here. If you're into House, this is the place to come!

Pretty much the main venue to catch EDM headliners in the city. I usually come for the Top 100 DJs, especially if they're playing trance. The sound system isn't the best I've experienced, but in SF it's pretty much the best especially if you like to feel that BASS. Lasers were added recently to make each show even more amazing!
Sure the venue might be smaller than most so you can have a more intimate experience with the DJ, but with that said, my gosh the carpet smells bad when you first walk in. Time to update the venue please.

Ruby Skye has definitely made a name for itself. It's hard to keep a club open and running for years if you continuously bring in big names into a venue such as ATB, Above and Beyond, Kaskade, Armin, Afrojack, etc. Just to name a few. Yes, they are known for house, trance, progressive house, etc. type of music. So if you like hip hop and reggae, you'll have to check their website when they hold special appearances like De La Soul, Talib Kweli, and other artists!
Before they redid the main stage area and VIP tables downstairs, the theatre-like venue decor was amazing but they really did an amazing job afterwards with the hooked up music sound system, plasma TVs sitting below the DJ booth, and the large projector screen above with the DJs name or videos and screamin' lights of red, yellow, blue, etc. around the whole venue! I'm glad they still kept the beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling giving the place a more classic yet modern style. Plush red velvet seating at the VIP tables, which I love!! Rockin' it VIP status is a heart of gold when great DJs come live onset and you're dancing the night away with bottle service! Great view of the DJ and main stage area if you're upstairs but I admit, there could be a little bit more room for the VIP table if you have 15+ people sitting in one area.
They don't allow ins and outs of the club on certain event dates, so you'll have to ask at the front of the door or ask security. Cover charge is a bit expensive unless you get on the guestlist, but for certain events for big time DJs who are spinning a long set, you'll pay for ticket prices online. Word of advice, always check on their website to be updated with more information!
They offer coat check service which is $2 and the people at the register are super friendly! Especially when they tell you of other up and coming events in the near future. Plus, hearing their stories about meeting different artists and DJs, you'll think of them as lucky!
There's a total of four bar areas. Two located downstairs, one located the minute you walk up the stairs, and another in a small sectioned back room. The drink prices are reasonable and strong but if you don't want to spend too much, then go out for a drink beforehand and enjoy the rest of the evening with great music!
You'll meet plenty of different people on all walks of life. You'll see people who are from out of the country or visiting elsewhere, asians, old and young, etc. The crowd is always pumped up and happily dancing to the music! So, you'll never have to deal with someone to fight with, but always be careful for that one crazy person creeping around.
Plenty of parking if you come a little early and grab dinner before the doors open. Or you can try the parking garage that's not too far from the club.
Overall, it's one of my favorite places to go party in SF!

Ruby Skye is usually best on Saturday nights since a lot of world renonuned DJ's are lined up to play here. The lines run very long after 10pm so get there early. The DJ's from Europe usually end up here playing Euro Trance. SF's version of Ministry of Sound.

If you are a creepy dude or a girl that likes odds in her favor, then this is the place for you. We did not do enough research and opted for the very unnecessary bottle service/VIP table. The only benefit was that you could sit down and people watch from the balcony onto the dance floor. The night we went they had some girl acrobats that definitely put on a show. Ruby skye was swarmed with guys trying to get laid and there were probably 20 sausages for every bun. Nothing special at all- i would say avoid it unless there is some cool DJ you know is spinning.

Week in and week out, Ruby Skye manages to book the world's best DJs - from Tiesto to Armin to Guetta. The world's best love coming to SF for Ruby Skye's ridiculous sound system, intimate environment, and classy (yet crazy) vibe.
It tends to be a bit pricy, but can you really complain when you're one of a few hundred that gets to spend the night with one of the best in the world at what they do?

Ruby Skye is a nightclub in the Union Square area, it's known for the high-profile DJs they bring in from time to time. The area can be a little dangerous, as there have been reports of shootings around there.
It actually doesn't get too packed, as they stop letting people in after awhile. The prices they charge on bottle service are completely insane however, more than a lot of Vegas clubs.
