A true Parisian activity is to shop for the famous Sunday lunch, when the whole family sits down together, on rue Cler on Paris’ Left Bank. If you’re renting an apartment, shopping on rue Cler is an adventure any day of the week (except Mondays, when some shops are closed). If you’re heading there on Sunday, go before 1:00pm when mass ends at St. Pierre de Gros Caillou and all the locals flock to rue Cler to buy the big family lunch before the shops close around 2:00pm. The Pomerol Paris rental overlooks the pedestrian part of this famous street, a delightful location for your Paris stay. Love the little shops. Everything you need to pack an amazing picnic. Favorites include a pastry shop selling amazing tarts, a cheese shop and a produce market.Recommended for:

Rue Cler is a small pedestrian cobblestone street that is home to a famous market that sells everything you could possibly need for a picnic on the lawn of the Champ de Mars or for preparing a fancy dinner at home. This street is a true cultural experience as vendors call out to you from the long rows of fresh fruit and vegetables, the scent of smelly cheeses hits you as you pass by the fromagerie, gorgeous bouquets of flowers spill out into the street, fresh fish are on display and the heavenly smelling baguettes in the bakery are impossible to resist.Recommended for:

rue Cler had a ton of great little shops - we assembled a picnic from the bakery, deli, cheese shop, and the fruit shop and enjoyed it over by the Orangerie. We were also able to take care of several meals by shopping in the market and eating in our apartment over on rue Valadon which was very close to rue Cler. There were also a couple of good cafes in this area.

rue Cler is an outdoor market in the 7th arrondissement. The vibe is very much neiborhoodish; it is a place locals really go to for daily supplies. The nice thing about it is that it is actually OPEN ON SUNDAY! (how unfrench is that!?). Frech vegetables, fruit, bread, cheese, bottles of wine, cuts of meat and desserts- you get a snapshot of the authentic French way of living right here.
