Even thought they have a B rating in their window, this place still has a few things going for them:
Vegan friendly! They willingly omit the fish sauce and egg to make food I can eat!
Cheap! Most items are in the $6-8 range
Open until 4am for those midnight-after-partying Thai cravings
Super fast! I swear they brought almost 10 dishes out about 10 minutes after we ordered.
Parking is $2-$3, so it's not free, but at least it's cheap.
It's a very casual place with an authentic feel, down to decorations and bags of rice laying around.
Bring some cash; you won't need a lot. Order a few things to share and enjoy!
I don't know if I'd like this place quite as much if I came during the middle of the day for lunch, but I have enjoyed it every time I have come for those late night meals with friends! Tasty, cheap, fast and open until 4am satisfies those late night sustenance needs after partying in Hollywood!Recommended for:

This is one of the best Thai food places in Thai town Los Angeles. The pad see eww is the best and so is the papaya salad. I really like their morning glory when it is in season. Everything is super tasty and a great place to have family style type dinner when you are with friends.

Ruen Pair has become one of my favorite Thai restaurants. They are known for their morning glory and their pork jerky, but also carry some delicious Thai salads as well as noodles.

Don't park in their parking lot, they'll charge you & it's not worth it.
Park on the street/ neighbor hood. It's free parking on street, the meters are free after 8PM =)
CASH ONLY here, which kinds sucks but they have an ATM machine inside the restaurant here.
Thai Papaya salad here is yummy but can be a bit small at times =(
Good place for late nite eats.

3.5 stars. They charge $3 to park your own car in their lot. So, if you aren't taking my keys, why do I have to pay? Nevermind. We decided to make our way to Thai town after a party in LA the other night instead of Umami burger because Thai food is delicious and cheap. Our friends all raved about Ruen Pair. Strange name but whatever, I was hungry. We made our way over from Vermont. Upon entering, you see all the kitschy elements of the 70s that time forgot. Who decorated this place? Seriously, I want their number. No, not really.
We ordered a variety of dishes and shared. Our half of the table tried: yellow curry with chicken, Chinese broccoli and crispy pork, cha-po, and pad see iew. Yellow curry was pretty standard with carrots, chicken, and potatoes. It didn't stand out. The pad see iew was tasty but again just ok. The cha-po was BBQ pork, roasted duck, and deep fried pork belly over rice. It was good but could have used some vegetables to round out an entire plate of meat and rice. The Chinese broccoli with crispy pork was probably the best dish of the 4 we ordered. The broccoli is stir fried with bits of crispy pork belly sprinkled throughout the dish. It was really good with rice. I liked it. But I was told that this was not the best crispy pork by two different people in our party. I must seek out this delicious crispy pork belly they speak of! Otherwise it was really great to go out and have a meal with friends. Ruen Pair is CASH ONLY and is open until 3:30 am!
