On a rare occasion I would crave for butter chicken. I have to admit I am not a true Indian food lover. I have dined at a few places in the Bay Area and this is one of the most down to earth solid authentic Indian restaurant. None of those fancy fusion stuff with hiked up price. Just your regular good old Indian curry with a modest yet polished furnish.
Of course I ordered their butter chicken. It wasn't the best I have had but it was still very satisfying. Fish Koliwara was a bit strange to me. I did not realize the batter is supposed to be totally soft. The fish meat is pretty tender and flavorful though. Lamb Madras was a bit of a disappointment. I found the lamb meat a bit too tough. Garlic Naan was phenomenal. Pudina Paratha is almost as perfect.
The service was slow. We waited quite a while for the food but overall I am still happy with the quality. Would love to try their dinner buffer. Too bad it's only served twice a week.Recommended for:

Really good Indian food - high quality ingredients, great service. The only Indian place I know of in downtown San Carlos. I would definitely recommend coming here. The fresh lime soda is tart and the perfect compliment to go with the heavy dishes like chicken tikka masala and the chicken saagwala.
