If you only visit one church in Paris, choose this one. The stained glass is unbelievably gorgeous, especially with the recent restoration work. Go early to avoid the line, which can get long.

Not too far from Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle is Paris's Gothic crown jewel. I don't know if there is a more spectacular example of Gothic architecture in the world. The stain glass windows are divine. Sainte Chapelle is an absolute must see among the hundreds of must sees in Paris

The most beautiful church in all of Paris. I once waited outside for an hour to get a chance to see St Chapelle and it was worth every minute of that wait!

The stained glass windows and original ceiling ornamentation make this an incredibly beautiful chapel to visit. If you can go on a sunny day, it is even more impressive. The one down side is the long queue to get in.

Probably the best stained glass window in the world - Saint Chapelle is on Ile de la Cite near Notre dame so only 1o minutes walk across the pedestrian bridge linking the two islands !

Small but amazing place. You can stand hours sit in any place and look at the glasses all around the church...you probably will see some part of Jesus history! I love it very much!

Go to the Vivaldi concert in St. Chapelle. Watch the light play on the ancient stain glass windows. The concert is early in the evening so you can still have a great dinner afterward. Find the concerts and times in a copy of Pariscope Magazine, available at newsstands, called tabac.

The Sainte Chapelle is something truly unexpected. You barely see it's there and once you walk in you are struck by the beauty of the glass vitrals.

I find it really disappointing in Paris that there is an admission free for nearly everything including churches.

Sainte Chapelle should be on must-see list of every visitor to Paris. While there are many incredible sites in this beautiful city, you will never forget this place after your visit. The stained glass windows of the cathedral are breathtaking, especially on a sunny day. When we were there, classical music was playing – it was sublime.

The unforgettable interior of this high-gothic cathedral soars with the light of hundreds of stained glass windows floating into it's vast space. The upper chapel has 1,113 biblical scenes told in a series of 15 windows. the exterior is delightful too, full of flying buttresses and spires. It's on the Ile de la Cite', in the middle of the Seine.

This place is absolutely beautiful, especially if you are a fan of stained glass. It's very small, though, and lines are long most of the time so try to get here early.

A small, unassuming building hidden within the Palais de Justice just across from Notre Dame. One climbs down a set of stairs into a dim room, but when you climb up into the main room, you're greeted by the most amazing stained glass perhaps in the world. (It helps if it's sunny, which is somewhat unusual in Paris.) It is truly one of the hidden gems of Paris.

This is a magnificent chapel on the Ile de la Cité in Paris. What impressed me: the walls are mostly covered by stained glass windows. It is almost magic that the building can stand.

One of my favorite places in Paris! Whereas Notre Dame can be dark and cold, Sainte Chapelle feels so uplifting. The beauty of the windows (which are being painstakingly restored so about 3 of them will be covered up at a time) just can't be shown in pictures.
There are several chairs placed at the periphery of the main chapel and large cards in different languages that explain each window panel. Bring binoculars! You won't regret it!
Also just basic how to get there, you will have to go through airport-like security due to the fact that its in the Palais de Justice complex. But I never had any trouble and things move quite quickly.

This is not be missed, just the stained glass alone makes it worth a visit. Try to go on a sunny day to get the maximum benefit of the windows. Go with a guide or a good guide book to get the full story.

Description

La Sainte-Chapelle is a chapel on the Ile de la Cite in Paris, France. It is wildly considered one of the foremost examples of Gothic architecture in the world. The chapel was completed in 1248 and stood untouched until the French Revolution, when it was unceremoniously destroyed. It was originally built to house Kind Louis IX’s collection of relics, including what he believed to be Christ’s crown ... read more
of thorns. Sainte-Chapelle is home to what many consider to be the world’s most beautiful and intricate stained glass, though much is re-creation based on original documents.
