    Temple Square

    4.5
    31 reviews

You must stop by if you're passing through. Very clean, well maintained and gorgeous structures. We were able to walk around and go inside certain buildings. Saw a HUGE organ with the pipes reaching high into the ceiling inside the largest church/temple I have ever seen.

    Gateway Mall

    4.5
    9 reviews

I normally wouldn't rate a mall highly, since it's not my preference as a place to hang out. But I like the Gateway because it's outside and a somewhat pleasant place to be. There are several decent restaurants (mostly chains), a good movie theatre, and some decent shops. It's also just a few blocks from downtown Salt Lake. I personally ...

Right in downtown this is where the Jazz play their home games. You can get cheap tickets that include hot dogs and drinks right before the game. In fact, they have a deal where you can buy 5 tickets, 5 hot dogs, and 5 drinks for only $50 on Mondays.

    Salt Lake City Public Library

    10 reviews

I have not seen another library quite like this- in fact the word library does not begin to describe this wonderful place of learning, shopping, art, music, film and of course community. The architecture alone is of note, a five story glass building with steel hand railings and chrome accents paired with glossy yellow wood tables and comfy leather couches ...

    Memory Grove Park

    7 reviews

Memory Grove is right near Trolley Square and gives you a look into the kind of creepy side of the city. You can also see the Mason side of things because this is full of Masonic representation. Come here in the evening to get a little creeped out.

    Hogle Zoo

    8 reviews

Hogle Zoo is a great place to take kids. Our 6 year old daughter loves the new Rocky Shores exhibit that features seals and polar bears. But her favorite thing (and ours) is the World of Flight bird show. It takes place in the zoo's comfy outdoor amphitheater, and the birds are highly trained to interact with the crowd and ...

    Silver Lake

    6 reviews

This is less than a 2 minute walk across the street from the cabin. The lake is full of fish and you are all but garanteed to see some kind of wild life to include moose, beaver, tons of water fowl, a frog or two and be sure to watch for mosquitos in the late spring.

    Liberty Park

    4
    7 reviews

Liberty Park is a big, pretty park with large old trees and many many things to do for families and children. However, it attracts a bit of a trashy element - a crowd that can exude an unpleasant vibe. That being said, I have never necessarily felt unsafe or threatened here, and we have frequently taken our 6 year old ...

    Utah Museum of Natural History

    4.5
    6 reviews

Right up in the heart of the University of Utah campus, this museum gives you a look into the very short history that Utah has had since the early 1800's. Interesting fact: Utah has only been a state since 1896.

What is there to say about a movie theatre? Well, the Broadway in downtown Salt Lake is THE theatre for Indie, International, and Art House films. This is one of the main venues in Salt Lake for the Sundance Film Festival when it comes every year. As far as the theaters themselves, the sound quality is not very great and ...
