This is one of the best low-key beachside towns in Lima, and is great as a surfing base during the summer. I've also been in the winter, and if you can find a hotel that's open (and if you pack most of your own), it can be a very peaceful respite from the city, only a city bus-ride away. It hasn't experienced the same kind of development as other beach towns in the area, though, so don't go expected tons of upscale restaurants and hotels. This is pretty basic.

Quiet little resort town on the beautiful Peruvian coast south of Lima. Great local surf spots and an ideal base for accessing other good surfing in this region.
