As a Hard Rock junkie who collects charms from every HRC I visit around the world, I'd rate this in the top five I've been to (so far). Maybe the surrounding area has something to do with it, but I also especially love their bar here. The only thing I usually complain about is the volume of the music - ...

As a San Diego native, I've been to concerts at Humphrey's music venue, but I had never been to the hotel side before. Entirely secluded from the outside world on Shelter Island, the resort feels like a slice of Hawaiian paradise. Palm trees wave in the fresh breeze off the marina, quiet walkways snake their way around little waterfalls and ...

Despite my hesitation to ever use the word "cute," I have to admit this hotel fits the bill. It's perfectly sandwiched between the beach bum town of OB and the beach itself, meaning you can step right outside and go surfing, swimming, or tanning, or stroll along the eclectic promenade filled with street performers, sidewalk artists, or OB's Friday night ...

Well I just spent a bunch of time here this weekend and its a very nicely situated hotel with nice but not posh accoutrements. Its on the expensive side, but it sits on mission bay and mission landing. It is also a hop skip and jump, yes the infamous triple jump, from Sea World. There are multiple wings of this ...

If you're on a cheap budget, this is the place you should stay at. Located in the middle of a local beach town, you can walk to bars, the beach and a lot of shopping. A gorgeous, comfortable, and pampering hotel with the friendliest restaurant staff I've ever met. The views are unbeatable, the beds are swallow-you-up delightful, and each room has a balcony so you can fully enjoy an ocean-view sunset. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit removed from downtown, making transportation/convenience a little tricky.

Think of a hostel with added perks, the look of a hotel, and the unbeatable location of San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, and you've got 500 West. I just drooled every minute I spent here. The beds are huge and soft, and swallow-you-up comfortable, which was a huge perk for me. Like all W's, the one in San Diego is comfortable, cool, and caters to your needs. The room was large and didn't feel cookie-cuter. There was a large window seat - a nice touch.
