This San Diego Days Inn is located on a fairly big property, surrounded by a whole lot of nothing. There isn't any reason I would want to come back to this hotel, other than maybe to complain about them having no pool in the heat of the San Diego sun. The man working at the front counter was mildly rude, and was playing on his phone most of the time I was in there. He wouldn't show me a room unless I was for sure staying there, which is never a good sign. On the plus side they do offer continental breakfast and free parking, but that isn't uncommon and isn't enough to make me like the place. Overall I probably would scope out another option if I ever find myself in this middle-of-a-whole-lotta-nada location again.

My first thought when I entered the room was, “OOH GURL LOOK AT THOSE DUVET COVERS,” which is not something that I usually expect to think during my time at a less expensive chain hotel. The duvets were an interesting gold color with a lovely sheen to it, though, and the bright white pillows looked very fluffy and inviting. The bathroom was clean though a little cramped in my opinion, but for the rate they’re asking I usually just want a tidy room with the essentials. The room was even a pleasant continuation of what I’d experienced in the organized lobby, where the attendant was genial and professional. It looks kind of like the hotel filled in an old pool though, and then just put chairs on top of it, which is equal parts odd and depressing.
