    The Fairmont San Francisco

    The Fairmont San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    69 reviews

On Nob Hill this is definetly classy and what I think of when San Francisco comes to mind. The hotel is a bit stuffy but the service is wonderful! The rooms are spacious with great amenities and it has everything. One thing I really loved is that the hotel has a car that will take you anywhere within a 5 ...

    W San Francisco

    W San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4
    70 reviews

Like all W hotels, this one is ultra luxe, with funky Japonais decor in the rooms. You also can't go wrong with the location - right next to the SFMOMA and a few blocks from Union Square. Love their chic XYZ lounge downstairs and the lovely libations at the bar. There's also a heated indoor pool and gym. Definitely go ...

    The Westin St. Francis

    The Westin St. Francis

    Hotel Class:

    53 reviews

Gayle and I were privileged to attend a formal wedding at the Westin St. Francis. It was held on the 32nd Floor and had all the trappings (and view) that you would expect and enjoy. The lucky bride is the daughter of one of Gayle's good friends, and both her and the groom were quite a catch. It was a ...

    Palace Hotel

    Hotel Class:

Whenever I'm here, I feel like I'm arriving for some turn-of-the-century debutante ball, or having a tryst with my railroad baron lover in 1892. I think I could stare at the Garden Court ceiling for a solid week before tiring of it. I had a first date once in the Pied Piper Bar (he got one full point, just for ...

    St. Regis Hotel, San Francisco

    St. Regis Hotel, San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    5
    23 reviews

The butler service alone would qualify the St. Regis into our favorite San Francisco luxury hotels list. Add on to that an infinity pool, luxurious spa, several restaurants, and top-notch customer service, and you've got one of the classiest hotels in all of California. The excellent room decor is only matched by their seamless technological additions (control your room through ...

    The Ritz-Carlton

    The Ritz-Carlton

    Hotel Class:

An impeccable European style hotel in San Francisco, very smart and subdued, no kitschy props to offend, so comfortable. Centrally located but just tucked away from the hurly burly and hoi poloi. On the small side for a large hotel, with at least a semblance of intimacy. Food is up to standards too.

    Westin San Francisco Market Street

    Westin San Francisco Market Street

    Hotel Class:

Great option to stay for a business traveler. I had been in the lobby here a couple of times and was pretty underwhelmed. But it's actually a great spot. The rooms have been recently renovated - everything feels new, clean and nicely done. The beds, like at all Westins, are super comfy and spacious, with a big desk for working. ...

I stayed for a night since it was a girlfriend's birthday Friday night. The room was clean and a decent size for SF. The room was clean and I liked the toiletries. They didn't give me a room on an upper floor (I was on 14)...if you want a nice view, request a floor higher up. If I stay here ...

    Hilton San Francisco Union Square

    Hilton San Francisco Union Square

Located just 10 minutes walk of the Powell Street BART station, this is the usual Hilton hotel I stay at while in the city. I love the high floor views of the city, Golden Gate bridge and the San Francisco Bay. The bad: no executive lounge!

This hotel is within walking distance from Yerba Buena Gardens and Moscone Convention Center, which makes it an ideal place to stay for the business traveler. It is also home of The View Lounge, located on the 39th floor. I highly recommend going here in the late afternoon/evening to take in a libation and a panoramic view of downtown SF.

    InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco

    InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    14 reviews

The rooms at the Mark Hopkins are pretty upmarket-standard. Fancy, but not flashy. Clean and crisp, but not modern. The decor is a little gaudy, though some would just call that "period". The reason this hotel really shines is the unparalleled view to be had from the roof. Whether you have the breakfast buffet (I could take it or leave ...

    Mandarin Oriental

    Mandarin Oriental

    Hotel Class:
    4

This is a very solid property but it isn't as nice as other Mandarin Oriental properties and certainly isn't the best hotel in the city. I stayed in an Executive Corner Suite which had a city view (i.e., not the bay). The property has a lot to offer and is a good hotel. Highlights are: - excellent views from the ...

Wonderful hotel on the Embarcadero, with a stunning view of the Bay Bridge. The entire staff, from the doorman to the concierge, to the bartenders in Americano and the housekeeper, was extremely welcoming and hospitable. I stayed in an amazing room with a breathtaking bay view on the 7th floor (there are 8 floors in this lovely boutique hotel). Although ...

    Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel

    Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel

    Hotel Class:

    15 reviews

The Sheraton is usually quite busy with the number of business and cruise/tour groups they get. The hotel is quite massive with an updated decor from most other Sheraton hotels I have stayed in. The rooms are large and comfortable and great if you dont plan on staying in your room much. While very close to fisherman's wharf and to ...

Directly on Market street next to some world-class shopping- the Four Seasons has one of the best hotel addresses in town. The main floor/lobby houses the check in counters along with one of the hotel restaurants that serves great drinks. The rooms are very plush as expected with any four seasons hotel. The high end bath products by Loccitaine are ...

i came here for a conference 2 years ago, and was pleasantly surprised by this place. first, i'd recommend parking at the Sutter/Stockton garage if you're just visiting or staying short term, rather than valet. the meeting rooms downstairs are huge. they do run the AC so it was noticeably cold throughout. though i didn't stay here, we were visiting ...

Interesting location right at the corner of Chinatown with tons of restaurants within walking distance. Okay facilities in the lobby area, training center could have been a little bigger. Wine bar at the lobby.
