    InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco

    InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    13 reviews

I am instantly transported back to old San Francisco when I'm here. From the gorgeous guest rooms to the history of the Top of the Mark, I have this feeling of reconnecting with what it must have been like to be in San Francisco in the 40s. The staff is so overwhelmingly friendly and welcoming, it's ridiculous. My favorite kind ...

    Omni San Francisco Hotel

    Omni San Francisco Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    11 reviews

The Omni San Francisco offers world-class service and luxury amenities and service at a slightly lower price tag than the city's top five-star hotels. Built as a bank in the roaring 20s, the opulent Austrian crystal chandeliers and tasteful decor is a welcome respite in the city. But attention to detail and customer service is why this hotel is so ...

    InterContinental San Francisco

    InterContinental San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    17 reviews

The InterContinental has one of San Francisco's newest and best hotel restaurants, Luce. If grappa's more your thing, Bar 888 has a huge collection with a line of gorgeous bottles. Located near San Francisco's convention center, Moscone Center, the hotel is also a quick taxi ride to many of the best unsung restaurants in San Francisco's SoMa (South of Market) ...

    Mandarin Oriental

    Mandarin Oriental

    Hotel Class:
    4
    15 reviews

This is a very solid property but it isn't as nice as other Mandarin Oriental properties and certainly isn't the best hotel in the city. I stayed in an Executive Corner Suite which had a city view (i.e., not the bay). The property has a lot to offer and is a good hotel. Highlights are: - excellent views from the ...

    Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel

    Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4
    15 reviews

Clean, comfortable and quiet: my top three for a good hotel. Sure, the hallway decor might give you seizures, but our room was extremely comfy, with a slight view of the city. Our room faced the inside of the hotel, so it was more quiet than I was expecting for the Wharf. To save $25 a night in parking fees, ...

Sir Francis Drake Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4
    14 reviews

Loved the historic nature of the Drake Hotel. We were in town for a short weekend and they were conveniently located within walking distance of some great restaurants and points of interest. We ate at the hotel restaurant, which served delicious Italian fare at a reasonable price.

    Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco

    Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    11 reviews

This is one of the better Four Seasons properties that I have stayed at in the US. Great location, rooms, and impeccable but friendly service. Really nothing not to like. Recent construction means that the property doesn't have the tired feel of of some of the properties on the East Coast. Loved the corner room -- lot's of light and ...

Hotel Triton - a Kimpton Hotel

Hotel Triton - a Kimpton Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    9 reviews

Why, yes, in fact, Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead and Kathy Griffin both designed guest rooms at the Hotel Triton. But fear not if you miss out; every room at the Triton is a hip rainbow of colors and styles, many with graffiti-esque art, chalk boards, or other whimsical design touches. The Triton is home to those looking for ...

Hotel Monaco San Francisco - a Kimpton Hotel

Hotel Monaco San Francisco - a Kimpton Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    8 reviews

Hotel Monaco is a lovely boutique hotel from the Kimpton group, conveniently located at the cusp of the TrendyNob. Right next to the Clift Hotel and across from Hotel Diva, I must say this is just as fabulous as the other two (both of which I've stayed in). It's just two blocks away from Union Square and a block away ...

    Hotel Nikko San Francisco

    Hotel Nikko San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4
    9 reviews

It's too bad that my experience with the Hotel Nikko has been limited (so far) to their Conference facilities of which my latest visit ended today. This is a nice Hotel and I think I've only scratched the surface of this place. The large ballroom facility was comfortable and with good acoustics and climate control. There was also a nice ...

    Hotel Kabuki

    Hotel Kabuki

    4
    10 reviews

We like the Kabuki as a budget hotel for San Francisco for several reasons, including its location (in the heart of Japantown, outside the craziness of downtown), its serene Japanese-inspired spa and springs, and its exceedingly good value. Add in cleanliness, a Tokyo-style chic lounge and restaurant, and a peaceful koi pond, and the atmosphere is complete.

Argonaut Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

Argonaut Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    8 reviews

With its nautical brick-and-timber decor, think of the Argonaut's style as upscale pirate chic. In the heart of Fisherman's Wharf and across the street from the Maritime Museum's historic ship pier, the Argonaut conveys a sense of excitement about venturing to far-off lands. As a high-end Kimpton property, the hotel also offers umpteen amenities tailor-made for all types of adventurers, ...

    The Good Hotel

    The Good Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    7 reviews

We like the Good Hotel in our San Francisco budget category since it's not only cheap and in downtown San Francisco, it also has a very San Franciscan commitment to being, well... good. Is it fancy? Heavens, no. Might you see a few prostitutes or meth addicts whilst entering or exiting? Oh, yes. But it's ridiculously central, half the cost ...

JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square

Gayle and I spent a marvelous night here as part of our annual Holiday escape to the City. So this is a nice way to cash in some of those hotel points, show Gayle a good time, and ...

    The Mosser

    The Mosser

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    7 reviews

A boutique hotel in the middle of the Financial District around the corner from the huge Old Navy. They offer rooms with shared bathrooms or ensuite bath. The accommodations are mostly modern and it's probably one of the best sleeps I've had in a hotel. That said, the rooms are a bit small so be prepared for that.

    The Huntington Hotel

    The Huntington Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4
    7 reviews

One of the top hotels in San Francisco, The Huntington Hotel drips with old-world elegance. And that absolutely includes its elegant Big 4 restaurant. The type of restaurant your grandparents would have loved (if they were really, really hip grandparents), the menu is upscale classic American: iceberg lettuce and bay shrimp salads, wild boar chops, and more.
