    Mandarin Oriental

    Mandarin Oriental

    Hotel Class:
    4
    15 reviews

When I strolled into the Mandarin Oriental, an active lobby filled with patrons enjoying cocktails and appetizers greeted me. Considering the hotel is located in the heart of the financial district and the lobby restaurant, Brasserie S&P, has a reputation for fantastic all-day service, the Oriental certainly makes for a great gathering spot. I was eager to visit this hotel ...

Hotel Vitale, a Joie de Vivre hotel

Hotel Vitale, a Joie de Vivre hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    14 reviews

With a view of the San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace, Hotel Vitale garners a top spot on our 'favorite hotels for foodies' list. Its Italian farmhouse restaurant isn't your ordinary hotel diner; their handmade pasta dishes and homemade wood-fired oven pizzas would confuse even the most Italian of mamas. Plus, the hotel is just a stone-ground grit's throw from the ...

    Hotel Palomar

    Hotel Palomar

    4
    14 reviews

I stayed here twice for work, and both times were wonderful. Here are the many reasons why: 1) Location - very close to Union Square, one block away from a BART station and plenty of other public transportation nearby. 2) Free wine - hosted evening wine hour with nibbles. Fancy time! 3) Rooms - fairly big for a metropolitan city; ...

    Omni San Francisco Hotel

    Omni San Francisco Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    11 reviews

The Omni San Francisco offers world-class service and luxury amenities and service at a slightly lower price tag than the city's top five-star hotels. Built as a bank in the roaring 20s, the opulent Austrian crystal chandeliers and tasteful decor is a welcome respite in the city. But attention to detail and customer service is why this hotel is so ...

    Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel

    Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4
    15 reviews

Clean, comfortable and quiet: my top three for a good hotel. Sure, the hallway decor might give you seizures, but our room was extremely comfy, with a slight view of the city. Our room faced the inside of the hotel, so it was more quiet than I was expecting for the Wharf. To save $25 a night in parking fees, ...

Sir Francis Drake Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4
    14 reviews

The location is perfect - right in the heart of the shopping area and blocks from the theaters. The cable car goes right up the hill from there. They used to do a tea in the afternoon, but I'm not sure they still do. The view from the restaurant at the top is spectacular. We've stayed at other Kimptons and ...

    Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco

    Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    11 reviews

I like this hotel for accepting a patron like me who want to simplify life, pack a backpack and drive to San Francisco. I wasn't dressed to impress yet I did not feel discriminated at all. The hotel is at the caliber you can expect from the hotel chain.

    Grand Hyatt San Francisco

    Grand Hyatt San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4
    11 reviews

I booked a staycation here just prior to moving to the city...the best thing about the hotel is location- it's right in Union Square. The rooms have been renovated so they are nice and new, but somewhat sterile and characterless. While decent, I still don't think this hotel is on par with the Grand Hyatt hotels in other cities.

A great Hilton with reasonable room rates. One of the few that have an executive lounge. Not to mention the great location, also it is here the opening to Dirty Harry was shot! The restaurant is great as well.

Hotel Triton - a Kimpton Hotel

Hotel Triton - a Kimpton Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    9 reviews

Why, yes, in fact, Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead and Kathy Griffin both designed guest rooms at the Hotel Triton. But fear not if you miss out; every room at the Triton is a hip rainbow of colors and styles, many with graffiti-esque art, chalk boards, or other whimsical design touches. The Triton is home to those looking for ...

Hotel Monaco San Francisco - a Kimpton Hotel

    Hotel Class:

My favorite hotel in SF. It has space, personality and old world charm blended with modern amenities. Stay here whenever I visit and always recommend this or Triton (slightly cheaper and a little closer to The Embarcadero).

    Hotel Nikko San Francisco

    Hotel Nikko San Francisco

    Hotel Class:
    4
    9 reviews

It's too bad that my experience with the Hotel Nikko has been limited (so far) to their Conference facilities of which my latest visit ended today. This is a nice Hotel and I think I've only scratched the surface of this place. The large ballroom facility was comfortable and with good acoustics and climate control. There was also a nice ...

Argonaut Hotel - a Kimpton Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4.5

With its nautical brick-and-timber decor, think of the Argonaut's style as upscale pirate chic. In the heart of Fisherman's Wharf and across the street from the Maritime Museum's historic ship pier, the Argonaut conveys a sense of excitement about venturing to far-off lands. As a high-end Kimpton property, the hotel also offers umpteen amenities tailor-made for all types of adventurers, ...

Gayle and I spent a marvelous night here as part of our annual Holiday escape to the City. The Mosser

    Hotel Class:

So central, it's practically got a bulls-eye on its roof. But not much more; the barebones hotel prides itself on its location and its price. You can stay in nearby hotels for double or even triple the price. If you don't mind small rooms -- some with shared bathrooms -- the speedy, free Wi-Fi and cleanliness make it comparable to ...

    The Huntington Hotel

    The Huntington Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4
    7 reviews

One of the top hotels in San Francisco, The Huntington Hotel drips with old-world elegance. And that absolutely includes its elegant Big 4 restaurant. The type of restaurant your grandparents would have loved (if they were really, really hip grandparents), the menu is upscale classic American: iceberg lettuce and bay shrimp salads, wild boar chops, and more.
