It's too bad that my experience with the Hotel Nikko has been limited (so far) to their Conference facilities of which my latest visit ended today. This is a nice Hotel and I think I've only scratched the surface of this place. The large ballroom facility was comfortable and with good acoustics and climate control. There was also a nice ...

Gayle and I spent a marvelous night here as part of our annual Holiday escape to the City. I sometimes spend a lot of time traveling on business and Gayle often helps me out with child care and house coverage. So this is a nice way to cash in some of those hotel points, show Gayle a good time, and ...

Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

One of the top hotels in San Francisco, The Huntington Hotel drips with old-world elegance. And that absolutely includes its elegant Big 4 restaurant. The type of restaurant your grandparents would have loved (if they were really, really hip grandparents), the menu is upscale classic American: iceberg lettuce and bay shrimp salads, wild boar chops, and more.

Right in the heart of Union Square but with the kid-favorite amenity of an outdoor heated pool (a rarity in downtown San Francisco), the Handlery Union Square Hotel is a popular choice for families. Rooms can fit up to four or five people, and the room service menu has a children's section.

I have stayed in this hotel quite a few times. It's clean and modern and my favorite part is that while the furniture is exactly the same in all the rooms, the walls of each room are painted by a different artist. Their list of featured artists is impressive (Shepherd Fairy) and they will let you choose which room you'd ...

My company threw its annual conference here for a while, so I've stayed or worked here on many occasions. And I now suggest it to visitors all the time. Almost directly on busy Union Square (but with triple-pane windows; a key upgrade), the Villa Florence is surprisingly inexpensive. The building is historic (code for old), so don't expect large rooms, ...

When I spent a month backpacking down the East Coast, I stayed almost entirely in Hostelling International hostels (Boston, Manhattan, DC and Virginia Beach). It was only in New Orleans that I didn't. None of those HI properties look as nice as the Hostelling International in downtown San Francisco. This is simply a great property.
