    Golden Gate Bridge

Lincoln Boulevard & Doyle Drive, San Francisco, California 94129, United States
    841 reviews

Take a turn on one of the side streets instead of the viewing stop by the bridge. There's street parking and several small lots by the park (Crissy Fields)! Lots of people come to run, bike, BBQ, play with their dogs...I love how each day you get a different view of the bridge...sometimes sunny and clear, sometimes foggy and concealed!

    Golden Gate Park

Stanyan & Haight Streets, San Francisco, CA 94117
    343 reviews

The Golden Gate Park is a magical place. Located right in the center of the City, it's a huge, sprawling park dotted with trails, ponds, manicured gardens, museums and even a dutch windmill. Lots to do. On weekends they close the main road to traffic so bikers and roller bladers can take to the streets.

    Alcatraz Island

Golden Gate National Recreation Area Fort Mason, B201 San Francisco, CA 94123
    390 reviews

This is very well worth a visit. It is a 10 min boat ride from Pier 33 to the Island. From there starts a free tour up to the Entrance of the Prison. The best part is the Audio tour. This really takes you back to the live out there about 60 years ago - amazing. Besides all of that ...

    Ocean Beach

    Great Hwy at Balboa Street
    96 reviews

Ocean Beach just South of the Cliff House and is where I have emerged from Golden Gate Park after a few historic runs of the Bay to Breakers. You have to cross the Great Highway first and often deal with the fog. The beach is popular with surfers, dog walkers, and regular folks (like me) on a stroll. The water ...

    AT&T Park

24 Willie Mays Plaza, San Francisco, CA 94107-2134
    206 reviews

ATT Park is the best park in Major League Baseball. The consession stands are mini five star restaurants. The view will distract you from the game (like that's a bad thing).

    139 reviews

One of the coolest places to hang in SF on a sunny day. Great views from the top of the hill. Good place to picnic or throw the frisbee. Also got a great playground for the kids. If you are lucky enough to show up when some sort of celebration/demonstration is going on here (as happens a lot) you are ...

    Angel Island State Park

A beautiful little island just off the coast of Tiburon in Marin County. The ferry from San Francisco takes 30 mins to an hour. A great place for a day trip, you can also apply for camping spots. Know though that these are hard to come by!

    Baker Beach

Bowley Street, San Francisco, CA 94129
    82 reviews

The hiking en route to the beach is almost as good as the beach. Almost. Baker Beach is a great spot to draw in the sand, listen to the Pacific, and bask under the glow of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fantastic view and excellent swimming

Skyline Boulevard, San Francisco, CA, United States
    25 reviews

Ah, Fort Funston. Fort Funston is a short hop off off skyline drive and a nice stop along the 49 mile scenic route around San Francisco. At For Funston you can expect fantastic views of the Pacific and the faces of cliffs, dogs running wild, and guys on hang gliders and speed parachutes.

    Aquatic Park

Beach Street and Hyde, San Francisco, CA 94133
    21 reviews

One of the best places to swim when you need to practice for a triathlon. The water is frigid and even with a wetsuit, it's an absolute eye-opening experience. No caffeine required.

    Coit Tower

1 Telegraph Hill Boulevard, San Francisco, CA, United States
    120 reviews

Over the years, I have experienced Coit Tower in many ways - From the Filbert Steps, over from a Friend's apartment on Telegraph Hill, during a running event that ended at the Top, as a way to burn off calories after a North Beach dinner, relaxing on the back lawn, enjoying the architecture and parrots, watching the Blue Angels during ...
