    AT&T Park

    209 reviews

ATT Park is the best park in Major League Baseball. The consession stands are mini five star restaurants. The view will distract you from the game (like that's a bad thing).

    Alcatraz Island

    389 reviews

This is very well worth a visit. It is a 10 min boat ride from Pier 33 to the Island. From there starts a free tour up to the Entrance of the Prison. The best part is the Audio tour. This really takes you back to the live out there about 60 years ago - amazing. Besides all of that ...

    Dolores Park

    142 reviews

One of the coolest places to hang in SF on a sunny day. Great views from the top of the hill. Good place to picnic or throw the frisbee. Also got a great playground for the kids. If you are lucky enough to show up when some sort of celebration/demonstration is going on here (as happens a lot) you are ...

    Ocean Beach

    97 reviews

Ocean Beach just South of the Cliff House and is where I have emerged from Golden Gate Park after a few historic runs of the Bay to Breakers. You have to cross the Great Highway first and often deal with the fog. The beach is popular with surfers, dog walkers, and regular folks (like me) on a stroll. The water ...

    Angel Island State Park

    47 reviews

A beautiful little island just off the coast of Tiburon in Marin County. The ferry from San Francisco takes 30 mins to an hour. A great place for a day trip, you can also apply for camping spots. Know though that these are hard to come by!

    Baker Beach

    82 reviews

The hiking en route to the beach is almost as good as the beach. Almost. Baker Beach is a great spot to draw in the sand, listen to the Pacific, and bask under the glow of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fantastic view and excellent swimming

    Palace of Fine Arts

    147 reviews

Just cool to see. Tour busses will drop you off and it's worth getting off and looking around. Not near much else, so it makes a better stopover than destination.

    Pier 39

    238 reviews

Pier 39 is a bit touristy, but for good reason. There are many things to do here, including shopping, sight-seeing, and good food. But my favorite part is getting to see the sea lions. Love it!

Coit Tower is a great place to see the views of the city and the bay from up high. The area around Coit Tower is very beautiful - pristinely landscaped with great vegetation.

    Aquatic Park

    22 reviews

One of the best places to swim when you need to practice for a triathlon. The water is frigid and even with a wetsuit, it's an absolute eye-opening experience. No caffeine required.

    Union Square

    214 reviews

Centrally located downtown, Union Square (probably) serves as the city's shopping center. In the winter, there's ice skating, hot chocolate, and a great big Christmas tree. In the summer it's the busiest intersection near the Powell St. Cable car. Very tooouuuurrrriiisty.

    Japanese Tea Garden

    121 reviews

Fun to walk around. Like most things in the Golden Gate Park, it's pricey considering that it's just another place to walk around, but it is, in fact, a fun, pretty place to walk around. Picnics are forbidden though.
