    Treasure Island

    33 reviews

I want to come back soon! There's a couple wineries, the TI Flea Market once a month, and I'm sure there's other things too. I'd love to explore and do other activities on the island in summer. Stunning views of the city...just be careful if you're driving. Sharp turn off the bridge and getting back on is a stop sign, ...

    Curran Theater

    4 reviews

Love this theater! It's so classic and historic, especially when The Phantom of the Opera plays there, as the building and interior very much resembles the musical itself a la the 1880s. The stage is smaller but it's perfect for the Phantom!

    Green Apple Books

    13 reviews

If you're a fan of books and literacy, this is the single most important stop for you in San Francisco. Green Apple Books is a neighborhood shining gem of bookstravagance (I believe half of great writing is crafting new words). New or used, you'll most likely find it here in their lovely labyrinth of books!

    Filbert Steps

    10 reviews

The Filbert Street Steps run along a short section of Filbert Street, along which is a garden tended to and paid for by the residents of the street. The steps lead from Telegraph Hill down to The Embarcadero. Many houses in this residential neighborhood are accessible only from the steps. Similar to paved streets, several fire hydrants and a solitary ...

    Zipcar

    2 reviews

Though San Francisco is a fantastic public-transportation town (well, almost fantastic), sometimes you just NEED a car. Maybe it's a big Costco shopping trip, or you're moving some furniture, or you want to spend a day in Marin - sometimes the bus and the BART and your bike just aren't going to cut it. This car-sharing company is the Bay ...

    Hyde Street Pier

    8 reviews

Away from the family crowds on Fisherman's Wharf, this quieter historical pier has a maritime museum of outdoor boats to poke around. An equally good reason to step out onto the pier is for the San Francisco Bay views, sweeping from the bridge over to Alcatraz Island. Beautiful panorama!

    Cartoon Art Museum

    8 reviews

Established in 1984. In 1984, a group of cartoon art enthusiasts began organizing exhibitions by using art work from their own collections. For several years, the Cartoon Art Museum was a "museum without walls," setting up shows in local museums and corporate spaces. In 1987, with an endowment from Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz, the museum established residence in the ...

    Grand View Park

    6 reviews

This is one of the best views of the city by far. 360 and sitting just high enough above everything, the city feels tiny and huge at the same time. It's a little bit of a work out coming from either stairway, but it's very manageable if you pace yourself.

    Swedenborgian Church

    1 review

Established in 1895. Built in 1895 in Pacific Heights by a coterie of artists, architects and spiritual seekers, the historic Swedenborgian Church is rustic and charming in the Arts and Crafts tradition. There's a huge brick fireplace inside and, lit with candles, the interior is exceptionally beautiful and serene.
