Courtyard by Marriott San Luis Obispo

Courtyard by Marriott San Luis Obispo

    Hotel Class:

Set up against the Irish Hills of SLO, near a newer strip mall off Los Osos road and next to a horse pasture, is this sparkling new Courtyard. This hotel is pretty new, so the condition of everything is excellent. We had a larger double Queen room, which was decent size, with a pastoral view onto the green, grassy hills. ...

A must see on the way to San Francisco from Los Angeles. The food is great and the decor is wild.

This review is NOT for the hotel; it's just for the hot tubs & the spa. We live in SLO County, and this hot-springs resort is probably the best on the Central Coast. The hourly rates for renting a private hot tub are reasonable, and you can come dressed in your PJs and robe, and nobody minds (well, at least ...

What's great about this guesthouse is how close it is to downtown's Higuera St. But what isn't so great is the noise from the alley and street outside, the well-worn furnishings in the room, the heat during summer, and the unexciting breakfasts. You can do better in SLO by staying at a motel, in my opinion.

When I was inviting family to SLO for our wedding weekend, I was looking for a motel that was homey and inviting, not just your cookie-cutter Motel 6 or Best Western. The Peach Tree Inn was a perfect choice. Sure, the rooms may be just above average, but the family atmosphere and the front lawns with trees and picnic beaches, ...

Youth hostels are few and far between on California's Central Coast, and this eco-conscious, homey spot with rental bicycles and sourdough pancake breakfasts usually available wins my vote for the best place for budget backpackers who aren't interesting in camping by the beach. The hostel is walkable from the Amtrak train station, which doubles as a long-distance bus depot.

Embassy Suites Hotel San Luis Obispo

Embassy Suites Hotel San Luis Obispo

This is an older Embassy Suites, it has been remodelled and repainted, but it still has a feel of decades gone by. It is 4 stories, and the dramatic atrium found in many newer Embassy Suites is more of a large skylight here. The rooms are suites, but again, not new and fresh in feel. The property is situated next ...

We planned a full day of wine tasting up the coast and needed a place to stay for the night. We found an amazing deal on Hotels.com for this Ramada Inn---King Suite for $99! The Pro(s): Our room was H-U-G-E. You seriously could have done cartwheels all around without bumping into anything. We also had a large patio overlooking the ...

This hotel is very primitive but it has everything I would ask for. Room is clean and spacious. Free breakfast and wifi are provided. Staff was courteous. The hotel is located right off the highway and SLO downtown is only a short drive away. There are a few restaurants within walking distance if you don't feel like driving. My only ...

    Petit Soleil, Bed and Breakfast

If you know what you're getting into, this place can be a gem. But it's not so much of a B&B as it is a boutique motel with a Euro theme that also serves breakfast. Be prepared for noise from traffic and the parking lot, plus the businesses nearby. On the plus side, it's right off Hwy 101 in the ...

The hotel was good, not great. The walls are paper-thin and the doors nearby seemed to slam loudly. Luckily everyone seemed to go to bed at a decent hour so we never woke up in the night. Would I stay here again? I'd probably try something different next time (if the price is similar).

A brand new Hampton Inn & Suites, adding another Hilton hotel to the San Luis Obispo area. I stayed here during it's second week of opening in June 2012. This was probably the best Hampton Inn I've been to. Everything from the carpet to the furniture appeared new, clean and undamaged. Even the hotel atmosphere smelled new, as if I ...

This is San Luis Obispo's only true boutique hotel. Downtown just a block from the Thursday night farmers market, this rehabbed antique brothel has contemporary rooms with arty flair, from the piano wire strings hung like a sculpture on the wall to showers with peekaboo glass doors that you can see from the bed in your suite. Ambient noise can ...

When we tried to check in, there was a problem. We had booked through Hotwire and when we got there, they didn't have any more of the queen rooms we had booked. So they offered to give us a 1 twin room (not enough for 2 people) or we could pay more for a king. That's not how any other ...
