    Old Mission San Luis Obispo

    4.5
    8 reviews

Learn the history of the Old Mission San Luis Obispo. I usually come here if I'm by downtown SLO and want to stroll around after eating. Many families come here to explore or just walk after having a meal from downtown. Occasionally there would be events. Great place to take your kids or your mates. During the holidays, their trees ...

    Sunset Drive-In

255 Elks Lane, San Luis Obispo, CA, United States

Super cute place for a date! Best on warm nights and even tailgating. You can get some people in the back of the truck wrapped in warm blankets instead of sitting inside the car (last I checked at least).

    Baileyana Winery Tasting Room

5828 Orcutt Road, San Luis Obispo, CA
    4.5
    4 reviews

One of the friendliest, most scenically situated and interesting tasting rooms in San Luis Obispo's Edna Valley. Here five different family-owned winemaking labels have joined forces. Step inside the historical schoolhouse perched on a knoll among the vineyards. Don't leave without trying the Cadre pinot noir or the Zocker Gruner-Veltliner, which always sell out fast.

    Palm Theatre

817 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, CA, United States
    5
    4 reviews

The first fully solar-powered cinema built in the USA, the Palm Theatre is a grovvy little arthouse cinema in downtown San Luis Obispo. Ground-breaking documentaries, film-festival indie flicks and foreign films are all regularly on the marquee right here, on the same block as SLO's tiny historical Chinatown district, within earshot of the Spanish colonial mission bells.

First of all, we found an Australian candy bar here that my friend loves and hasn't been able to find in the US anymore. Second, what a fantastic selection of sodas! We couldn't help but get a 6 pack. Had some great ones (Sprecher Puma Kola especially) and some interesting ones (Brownie Cookie Dough soda, Prickly Pear). Awesome!

    Edna Valley Vineyard

2585 Biddle Ranch Road, San Luis Obispo, CA
    3.5
    3 reviews

Of all the family-owned wineries in the Edna Valley, just a grape's toss from downtown San Luis Obispo (SLO), this one has the most gasp-worthy view. Stand at the tasting room bar and gaze across the vineyards to the gently rolling hills beyond the farm fields. The Paragon vineyard Chardonnay is worth the extra price tag.

Wait, this place is on a side street behind Trader Joe's? It's not actually in the Edna Valley among all the lovely vineyards? Don't let the industrial park setting fool you. Stephen Ross bottles some of the most elegant, polished chardonnay and pinot noir anywhere in San Luis Obispo County. Worth a stop on any local wine tour, especially if ...

In the pastoral See Canyon, between Avila Beach and Hwy 101, this small family-run apple farm is only open from September through November. Of all the See Canyon apple farms, they usually have the biggest variety of apple types, including some heritage varieties that you've probably never tasted before. Delish! Their website is the best place to get information about the vineyards in SLO's Edna Valley wine region, or just pick up one of their self-guided touring maps at any local wine-tasting room or winery. They also put on a couple of fun, rural wine-country events every year, including the Roll Out the Barrels fest in late June.

Also know as the "Big Fremont," this downtown movie theater in San Luis Obispo has a gorgeous, huge art deco-esque sign outside, brilliantly lit up with pink, blue, yellow and green neon. Look for Midnight Madness movies and also the SLO Rewind series, where they show classic masterpieces like Vertigo and the Godfather on special nights.

Fine, I'll admit it - the only reason we came here was because Travis liked it, as the website wasn't really impressing me and I'd never heard of them before. But, the tasting room was fun (an old converted schoolhouse that still had the green chalkboard inserts on the pocket doors), and the back room has been converted into an ...

Out in pastrol See Canyon, squeezed between Hwy 101 and the ocean in Avlia Beach, this is the best-known among all of the apple orchards and pumpkin farms, While they don't have the same variety of heritage apples that Gopher Glen just down the road does, what they do have is juicy and delicious.
