San Luis Obispo County Farmers' Market

    12 reviews

Best farmers market ever! Always on a Thursday, it starts later than most farmers markets because it's really more of a street faire. For locals it's a huge social event, and has been for decades. Located in downtown SLO on Higuera Street, if you are in town don't miss it!

    Baileyana Winery Tasting Room

    5 reviews

We found Baileyana here, and went to check it out. We got there, and found they had two tastings - so we did both and shared. The traditional and premiums both had some very good wines. The staff was very friendly, and even brought out our tastings outside. (we brought our dog, and was barking some at some kids playing ...

    Palm Theatre

    4 reviews

The first fully solar-powered cinema built in the USA, the Palm Theatre is a grovvy little arthouse cinema in downtown San Luis Obispo. Ground-breaking documentaries, film-festival indie flicks and foreign films are all regularly on the marquee right here, on the same block as SLO's tiny historical Chinatown district, within earshot of the Spanish colonial mission bells.

    Edna Valley Vineyard

    3 reviews

The view from the tasting room here is just awesome. The tasting room is large, with a very long table, and the entire back wall behind the tasting room is covered with windows looking out onto the Edna Valley and the vineyards (obviously, more impressive when the vines are in full growth, but still a lovely sight any time of ...

    Stephen Ross Wine Cellars

    2 reviews

Stephen Ross Dooley used to be winemaker for Edna Valley, and he now has a winery under his own name (started in 1994) which specializes in Vineyard-Designated Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel. The tasting room location isn't that appealing (it's in an industrial park/strip mall looking area) but the wines here are excellent. Our favorites here were the Bien Nacido ...

    Gopher Glen Apple Farm

    2 reviews

In the pastoral See Canyon, between Avila Beach and Hwy 101, this small family-run apple farm is only open from September through November. Of all the See Canyon apple farms, they usually have the biggest variety of apple types, including some heritage varieties that you've probably never tasted before. Delish! You can get samples of everything before you buy. Warning: ...

    Rocket Fizz

    2 reviews

Dozens and dozens of different bottles of soda pop -- from retro brands like Crush to new editions like Death Valley Black Cherry from Indian Wells brewing -- fill this small warehouse of a shop. The place is bursting with wild candy, too, including rare imports from Asia.

    Salisbury Vineyards

    2 reviews

Fine, I'll admit it - the only reason we came here was because Travis liked it, as the website wasn't really impressing me and I'd never heard of them before. But, the tasting room was fun (an old converted schoolhouse that still had the green chalkboard inserts on the pocket doors), and the back room has been converted into an ...

    Frog & Peach Pub

    2 reviews

Are you a beer person and love listening to live bands? Well, this would be the place for you. Many people come here to just hang out and chill. Most band nights, there's a $2 charge, however, not sure if that's every time there's a band there. I find this place a bit of a hipster and 'i just want ...

    Claiborne & Churchill Vintners

    2 reviews

This small, family-owned winery specializes in small lots of fruity but dry white wines (think Riesling and Gewurztraminer). This winery was actually founded in 1983 by Claiborne Thompson and Fredericka Churchill (hence the name). They do make red wine as well, but we have usually preferred the whites to the reds here.
