Just a gorgeous little beach. There are a couple of restaurants on the sand at the main entrance, but otherwise this is the peaceful beach experience you might just have hoped is still possible in Mexico. Or at least some will feel that way. If you are looking for a swimming beach featuring all the amenities you might need at your fingertips, then this may not be for you. If you surf, it might be. If you like quiet, long stretches of sand where you can walk unmolested taking in the views, then it definitely is.
The surf break here is fast and rough, so not a great spot for beginners. More advanced surfers may want to join the locals in the lineup. But that fast, pounding wave means it is also not a great place for swimmers. Keep in mind there is plenty else to do when faced with a day on a picturesque Mexican beach surrounded by jungle. And here you will certainly find many local families making the most of it all. Fishermen also head out from here for the daily catch (making local fish tacos a great bet!). And a few short steps away from the main entrance you should have no problem escaping the "crowds" (if you can call it that, really). Bring the dog, bring a book, bring a blanket or just wander enjoying the views. Be sure to stop at the lagoon there at the river mouth and have a look for the local crocodílido. Rumor has it he is fat and happy in this comfortable spot too.Recommended for:
