What a beautiful scenic area. The home to the Hearst castle and off the gorgeous Cali coast. Take a ride here and make it a date!

A small beach at the bottom of Hearst Castle, there is also a pier from which a panoramic view of the local hills can be viewed.

Hearst Castle will BLOw your mind. From the gold inlay swimming pool to the dinner room for Kings. But when they are giving the tour and they mention that you should step to the RIGHT of any of the statues that are considered sacred or godly ... DO IT! I was a stubborn teenager so I went to the left of one of the statues and I wonder if my life could have been much better had I gone the correct way and not ticked off the gods. Its just an FYI. I only had time for one tour but if you can take them ALL .... you should. Its an experience that is the equivalent of going to Austria and can take an entire day to see the entire Castle.

Just a small town to stay in if you are driving up the coast and need to rest or are visiting Hearst Castle and need to spend the night. The restaurants are not that good and there aren't that many options. The upside is that it is still right on the California central coast so it's part of one of the most beautiful places in the world.

A must see for all! I loved the ride up the mountain on the tour bus, great view! Hearst Castle was amazing! The art, decor, and plush lifestyle of William Randolph Hearst is fascinating! I loved all the different pools. Very memorable!

Description

Hearst Castle, the rococo home of newspaper baron William Randolph Hearst which features Roman Baths and a Neptune Pool, is one of California's most popular tourist attractions, and is just outside San Simeon. Equally impressive are the elephant seals which line the shores of San Simeon, a tiny settlement with a population of under 1000.
