Beautiful beach area about an hour south of Big Sur on Highway 1. Parking for Day Use is $8, but you can park for free outside the park and walk in. There is a trail down from the beach about 100 m past the parking lot.

Sand Dollar beach is the first real beach that is accessible after driving past San Simeon from the south. It is a half-moon shaped sandy beach that the hardy swimmer who can handle the cold could take a dip in. It is also a great place for a picnic above on the bluff where there are tables and a restroom.
