    Sorrento

    Italy
    67 reviews

May travellers use this city as a base because of its location and convenience to travel to other cities in the region such as Positano and Capri - just a boat/ferry ride away. However I did love the city, its ambiance, architecture and a whole lot of acitivty to do like shows in the theater.

    Naples

    Italy
    177 reviews

Naples is definitely my favorite city with its lively and mystic character. The city overflows with culture, italian cuisine and small alleys :-) Go here if you want to visit the real authentic Italy. It's rough, dirty, noisy yet absolutely beautiful.

    Pompeii

    Italy
    98 reviews

Pompeii is one of those travel experiences that you think will be overly touristy and you will be above. Until you get to the perfectly preserved volcano victims, hands held up in horror, about to be engulfed in lava. Then you will be glad you came, in a sort of horrified at natural disasters/amazed at the sheer passage of time ...

    Positano

    Italy
    58 reviews

Positano is a picture-perfect village on the Amalfi coast, with brightly colored houses clinging to the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Like all of Italy, it is a little touristic, but less so than its larger neighbor, Sorrento, and its charm is tough to match. There is a nice little stony beach here where you can hang out.

Ravello is a spectacular little town that boasts a magnificent that boasts a magnificent symphony that plays on a stage that jets out over the coast. My only regret was that I was not there to enjoy the sunrise symphony. You arrive at 4:00 AM and they play until the sun rises. Maybe next time...the gardens were beautiful and the ...

Great little town and only 10-15 mins walk to Amalfi Town. We even had fire works on our last night viewed from a roof terrace. Food is cheaper here and still top class.

Great 12th-century cathedral and castle. Think Duchess of Amalfi. This was the seat of the republic in the middle ages. Great place to spend an afternoon, especially if you've got sunburn.
