You walk into the Marriott's giant, glass-roofed atrium lobby and wonder how they ever manage to clean all those windows. It's so spacious you could hover a couple of helicopters over the heads of the martini-drinking guests without knocking anything over. The rooms are also pretty spacious, with a nice big desk – much larger than most hotel room desks– and a nice little comfy chair and footrest. The rooms have some nice touches, like an iPod station and black and white art photography on the walls. The staff is very proud of the hotel's multiple good restaurants. The hotel also has a very large gym, and a ground-floor pool and hottub area, which looked a little tired to me, but may be getting renovated soon. We were there on a Sunday and they were having “family day”, so there was a small playground on one of the terrazas, and a pillow-strewn room with a TV playing a kid's movie. The hotel also has live music most nights in the massive atrium room. The staff was friendly, if a little bit Type-A. All in all, this hotel seems to really want their guests to enjoy themselves, and I think they succeed.Recommended for:

The massive and at least 3 story atrium style lobby is note worthy but I understand it is due for an upgrade, nonetheless, a perfect place to spend waiting for a friend or to spend an evening chatting with good friends listening to live music. There are some fantastic restaurants to choose from and some of the finest dining in all of Santiago. A great place to go on a Friday night. The rooms are modern and plush, the integrated power strip built into your room's desk is novel and a nice touch and there are all the expected amenities for clients with high expectations. The biggest downside was the pool, it kind of felt like it was an after thought and not part of the original design. And final either a plus or negative depends on you, Sunday is kids day with lots of activities for curious minds.Recommended for:

Great location, just in front of Parque Arauco - a complex with a mall, movie theaters and several restaurants.
The hotel itself is modern, cozy and clean. The rooms are new, spacious and well equipped! Helpful and kind staff that makes you fell very welcome to Chile.
And just behind the hotel the landscape of "Cordillera de los Andes" with it's eternal snow peaks.
On winter many ski stations open in these mountains!

The Marriot in Santiago is the usual quality for the brand, and is in a neighborhood with plenty to do. It's near a grocery store and an Irish pub, as well as one of Santiago's main streets.

The large building on the horizon, contrasted against a modern freeway and surrounded by mountains makes for a impressive introduction to this hotel. Its lobby is somehow intimidating, perhaps rather large for those who prefer something more familiar, but it soon becomes friendly and functional. The view from the rooms gives you an impossibly good idea of Santiago and its surroundings, especially facing the south east. Beds are very comfortable and rooms spacious. Anyone staying in the upper floors has direct access to floor 23, where a well-located lounge is waiting to enjoy with friends. From 6 pm to 9:30, for a fee of $70.00, you can drink all the beer, wine, champagne or soft drinks your spirit can bear! After the happy drinks and feast, the spa the place to go to detox and to work out. I think that the lawn and swimming pool are not up to the hotel standards, but are redeemable.
