IT's such a beautiful city, but how do I choose where to stay? I don't enjoy commuting, love the beach and the forest, and prefer to walk to a restaurant to eat. Is there a place to stay in Cape Town that would answer all these preferences? Coz I'd prefer to stay there, then. Please share your thoughts!

Also, this sprawling garden and park is astonishing. Long walks in the woods are also possible here -- don't miss it.

This, however, is just the beginning. With the 1000-meter colossus of Table Mountain looming above stunning white-sand beaches, and the peaks of the Twelve Apostles backing some of the planet's most dramatic cliffs and coastline, it's also blessed with a natural setting that puts other cities positively to shame. Whether you're partying, catching a concert in the park at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, chilling with the penguins at Boulders Beach, or just eating some of the tastiest Cape-Malay food ever made, Cape Town is a city that will captivate you, and have you planning your next visit before you've even left.Matthew Crompton
For what you're looking for, I'd start my search around Camps Bay and Clifton at the city's western beaches. Cape Town is a little bit spread out, so getting to the forest may require a little bit of travel, but otherwise, you've got what you're looking for right there. Downside is that Camps Bay is one of Cape Town's most expensive neighborhoods, so be aware. Good luck! =)

The natural habitat of the Cape is amongst the most unique in the world. It is called the "Cape Floristic Region" and consists largely of shrubs and grass-shrublands, full of globally unique flora. One of the best places to immerse yourself in this natural wonder is at the Groobos Private Reserve and Lodges. This is a bit outside of Cape Town - in Gansbaai, but well worth the trip.

I can't think of a hotel that answers all of these (especially forest, which is not really the habitat around Cape Town. Think more like a Mediterranean scrub-grassland). However, the best hotel in Cape Town in my book is the Cape Grace. It is a gorgeous place, right on the harbor and in walking distance to numerous restaurants and city attractions. You'll have to arrange transport to the beach and to Table Mountain, but otherwise this is as central as it gets!
