A wide variety of authentic Tico arts and crafts, you might see an oxcart artisan at work. Also the usual assortment of touristy tchotchkes. One-stop shopping for gifts and souvenirs, and accepts US$.

A bit of a tourist trap, Sarchí tries to recreate a traditional Costa Rican ambiance, but geared to visitors. While perhaps lacking a bit in authenticity it is still a decent place to find some nice souvenirs to take back as giftsRecommended for:Local Culture

Great little art town that represents a part of Costa Rica's colorful past - the ox cart! You will see these all over Costa Rica but most of them are made right here is Sarchi - colorfully painted in evey color of the rainbow, you may decide to take one of the smaller one home! Check out the main factory for cheaper prices, especially on some of the wooden and leather rocking chairs - truly a nice piece of Costa Rica to take home with you! The shipping is not too expensive to the states.
