    L'Isola Del Gelato Di Giamberduca

Maybe it was the pirate theme, the upbeat men and women serving gelato with pirate hats and bandanas, or the whacky island Disney-esque interior or the transparent floor. I dunno. Maybe it was the great tasting gelato in lots of flavors and colors that did it. But I love this place.

One of the best cappuccinos I remember having in all of Italy. Can't remember if there's latte art, though that's a rarity in Italy. Sadly.

    Ristorante GrillhouseTeatro

The seafood antipasto was truly amazing. Everything here was excellent. Our relatively large group received professional service. Adriano visited our table, checked in and made sure everyone was happy. He also helped with menu translation so each person was able to order what they truly wanted.

Do make a reservation at this amazing restaurant if you're in or near Olbia. They have the best of regional Sardinian seafood prepared perfectly. I dined solo and was totally entertained between courses just watching the other diners and enjoying the atmosphere. It would be more fun with a few more people so you could share some of the dishes. ...

    Antico Caffe' Dal 1885

A quiet and elegant place, I stopped in for a frittata lunch. The frittata was light, aromatic, and tasty. It was dim and relaxing inside and they were playing Frabrizio De Andre, which captured my mood perfectly. Dine here, then head to nearby Isola del gelato for dessert for a blend of sublime and ridiculous.

    Ristorante Il Pescatore

On my last visit to Cala Gonone we ate at Il Pescatore on our last night. I should have come sooner because it's the best restaurant in town, and I would have enjoyed a few more meals there. You can sit outside for view of the sea (though do wear mosquito repellant). Just all around good Italian seafood, and a ...

This restaurant, part of Sofitel Timiama hotel has a fantastic view on one of the most beautiful beaches of South Sardinia, Cala Giunco. Seafood is fresh and really of high quality. Dishes are fantastic and tasty. The staff is really kind. There is also a garden with small sofas where you can get relaxed while looking at the sea.

    Casablanca Ristorante Pizzeria

Casablanca has terrific pizza in the heart of old Alghero. It's the one restaurant in Alghero that I revisited for my last night in town. And do try the creme Catalan for dessert. Creamy! They also have a really good traditional Sardinian gnocchi, with sausage. And the house wine is very very drinkable. So, if you're lucky enough to be ...

My husband and I ate there for our last meal in Italy last year and heartily enjoyed our meal. Located on a busy road near the airport, from the outside Ristorante Le Caravelle doesn't look like much. But once inside I felt all the anticipation of entering a great traditional restaurant in any part of Italy. Comfortable decor, interior murals, ...

Gelateria K2 di Scudieri Marco C.

Alghero has a gelato place on every corner, but this place is one of the best. Try the pistacchio in a cono with two flavors for only 2 Euro. Then have a walk through the narrow streets and window shop for espadrilles. Yum.

    Azienda Agrituristica Sa Mandra

When you walk through the gates you hear the accordion, seen the tables of traditional Sardinian breads, and cheeses, and then the kids scampering around and then you'll probably make a beeline to the table with poured glasses of red Cannonau and white Vermentino. Our group enjoyed a generous dinner of traditional Sardinian foods. We had a vegetarian among us, ...
