Take the Ferry from across the Bay in San Francisco or drive the winding road to the village, but either way come to come to Sausalito! The first town you come to when you come across the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a world class destination. In the heart of the town is a beautiful fountain, which stands as a crowning jewel in a fabulous plaza. There is a great little cafe that looks out on the water. Across the street is the center of a long boulevard to shops and restaurants. Sausalito has sense of being truly cosmopolitan!!! A jewel of a town!!!

Sausalito is a great town nestled on the rugged hills just on the north side of teh Golden Gate bridge, Bay side. It is very upscale and expensive to live here. But most people come here as tourists, to enjoy the little shops downtown, sort of a Carmel by the Sea, or Sausalito on the Bay.
There are what you find in most tourists towns, but a little bit better quality in food, shops, and souvenirs.
The Ferry comes directly here from San Francisco, bringing the tourists by the boatload, but you can get here from the freeway down the hills. Parking is challenging if you drive, but no worse than San Francisco.
