Rustic, lively and a whole lot of fun, Schooner's is a great spot to grab some local seafood and catch live music. The place is an overgrown tiki bar, right on the waterfront of the marina area. Don't miss the upstairs deck, which can easily be overlooked, but offers fantastic outdoor seating and front-row seats to the live music. Try the oysters and the conch chowder - delicious!Recommended for:

It doesn't take too much time in Key West to realize that vibrant Duval Street - while decadantly fun - is more of a tourist playground than a tried and true backwater of native distinction. If you really want to taste fresh, regional cuisine in the festive company of laid-back locals - try wandering a few blocks away from crowded Mallory Square to the historic marina district. Schooner Wharf Bar may appear to be a barely standing waterfront shack, but the daily live music, comfortably lounging locals and a bowl of to-die-for conch chowder will easily convince you otherwise.
