One of my favorite travel moments of all time happened in this café. I stopped here for dinner one evening and the only table that was open was the one where J. K. Rowling wrote the first two Harry Potter books. I took what was once her seat and peered out the window. The view was spectacular! I can definitely ...Popular with

This was my first experience at a Michelin star restaurant. Myself and my travel companions were lucky enough to get the full treatment, ordering from the chef's table, being treated to additional tasters from the kitchen. It was not only an amazing experience, the food was un-real! The set lunch menu was affordable. I can't wait until my next visit.Popular with

Valvona & Crolla is described as a specialty food and wine shop. There are two, one on Elm Road and one on Multrees Walk, both in New Town. The Elm location is the original. The Multrees location opened in late 2004. The Elm location has a small restaurant at the back which is very hard to get into and they ...Popular with

This is known to be the oldest bar in Scotland. Like many of the bars in Edinburgh city, it was also renovated and turned into a gastropub. It's lovely inside, a mix of the old with the new. There's lots of variety of beers and cider on tap, and nice small selection of bar foods. It may seem small from ...Popular with

I really liked the vibe of this place. Have some great ale on the tab, and food here is fantastic. We had Speyside beef, and it was one of the best meals I've had in Scotland!Popular with

The queue was out the door and we had to wait twenty minutes to be served, that was just for a take away! We had been warned that this was a popular chippy, and that there was a good reason. Once we reached the counter the food was served extra quick and savoured in a spot by the harbour. The ...

Three thin ladies was my first meal out of France in forever and let me tell you...it was amazing. The menu features fresh, organic, healthy options (even gluten free bread!). It's a cute cozy place with huge coffees and super friendly staff. Centrally located this place also serves brunch all day at decent prices. Couldn't have been any happier during ...

Some home cooking was just what I needed. Mums is a small, casual, and busy restaurant. Service was nice. The food was warm, comforting, and good. I ordered the 2 sausages with mash. I tried the special pork sausage with the devil's revenge over garlic mushroom mash potatoes. The sausages were tasty. The mash didn't have too much garlic flavor, ...

A restaurant right in the old town. The ambiance is totally lovely and super romantic, with dim lights on the wall and candles on the table. There is a loft area and several tables along the windows have great view of the Edinburgh Castle. I ordered whole sea bream and it was outstanding. The skin was crispy and the meat ...

This Old Town restaurant is on the very attractive Victoria Street. Calling its cuisine Scottish basically means it emphasizes local ingredients which result in favourful dishes. The wine list is fairly short but very reasonably priced. The name is because it is located in a former grain storage building and thus has interesting vaults within.Popular with

Went to the city location, but same place. Friends that it was only a fish and chips place and were more than surprised to see it was a bit "fancy" but in a good way. Their fish and chips was excellent and my scallops and gnocchi was exceptional. Had an amazing Australian Chardonnay as well which made the meal even ...Popular with
