The turtle rescue is a must see at he island. If you are lucky enough to be here in the summer, you might be able to go to a hatchling release! Check them out on Facebook, Sea Turtle Inc

This a great place to visit for adults and children and see the wonderful work the Sea Turtle Hospital is doing. Look them up on Facebook and you will get notified when they have their next turtle release.

A wonderful place to take children, or just to explore the excitement of some of the wildlife in this area.

    MUST SEE!
Accepts donations to see a Alison the turtle with one flipper (Yes she has a prosthesis to help her swim - and her own life guard) . Multiple rescue turtles during recovery, and .. if you are lucky you may be able to see baby hatchings released to the ocean.

Turtle Inc is one of our favorite places to visit when on the island. If you get there close to opening, they will let you feed one of the sea turtles. The turtle talks are very informative and interesting and they have a wide variety of types of turtles. They rehabilitate injured turtles to be released back into the wild. If the turtle is beyond release, for instance, those that have lost more than two limbs, then they keep them indefinitely. They also do baby turtle releases and if you follow them on facebook or call their hotline, you can come along and watch!

Description

Sea Turtle Inc. is a South Padre Island non-profit dedicated to the conservation of one of the area's most popular four-legged creatures: the sea turtle. The organization's efforts not only include a campaign to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured animals, but also to educate the young and old alike (of the human variety) about marine turtles and their habitats. Time a visit right in the summer and you can witness the releasing of the new hatchlings, a must-see for lovers of baby animals (and who isn't, really?).
