    Momiji

    2 reviews

I was looking to take my friend Joa K. out to dinner for her hospitality during my visit to Seattle and I found this lovely little Japanese restaurant in Capitol Hill. Apparently, she had never been so we made reservations on Open Table. First of all, the restaurant is deceivingly larger than it appears. There's a back room, plus a ...

    Piroshky Piroshky

    24 reviews

Anytime I go to Seattle I am sure to stop by here for a hand-crafted Russian pastry. They are the most perfect snack to fuel up while walking the shops of Seattle's Pike's Place Market. Do not miss a chance to try the chicken, rice and mushroom puff. If you're in the mood for sweet instead of savory try literally ...

    Dick's Drive-In

    20 reviews

You don't find a better old-school drive-in than Dick's these days. Known as much for their fries and shakes as for their burgers, Dick's is classic Americana at its finest.

    1. Get the Caribbean Roast sandwich. 2. Eat it. 3. All other sandwiches are now ruined forever.

    Lark Restaurant

    5 reviews

If you want to eat a locally sourced meal this is your place. In the summer the fare is doubly good given the range of ingredients waiting to be prepared. A great place for a group, family-style sharing is encouraged in this casual environment.

    Armandino's Salumi

The culatello sandwich was simple in appearance but incredibly complex in flavor. You can also have the shop cure a meat just for you, which is pretty cool.

    Seattle Coffee Works

Though this is located right in the tourist part of town, I think this is the best brewed coffee in Seattle. Visit the slow bar and get a vacuum or chemex brew, chat with the barista, and enjoy an incredibly smooth and delicious cup of coffee.

    Local 360

    8 reviews

On the advice of a fellow Gogobot Pro I gave this place a shot and I have to admit that I was glad that I did. The menu was unique to say the least, but I forced myself to go and I truly enjoyed it. I had the PB&J Bon Bons as a starter and the Poutine and Mac&Cheese as ...

    Volterra

    3 reviews

Come here for the restaurant *and* the neighborhood. The most walkable neighborhood in Seattle, Ballard is a fabulous place to spend a day (especially on Sunday mornings during the farmers market). Volterra serves the best of Tuscan cuisine. Anyone that serves wild boar gets a thumbs-up just for that, but theirs is deliciously strewn across a bed of housemade gnocchi. ...

    Stumptown Coffee Roasters

    6 reviews

I love the mochas here because they aren't sickly-sweet like most places. The grind is smooth and perfectly executed every time. Yeah, so they got bought by a big corporation, their coffee is still good.

Want to go someplace where someone will make you a cup of sipping chocolate while telling you more than you ever thought someone could know about chocolate? This is the place to do it.

    Serious Pie

    35 reviews

I've written about food in Italy for the past 10 years, so I consider myself pretty well-versed in pizzaiology. And Serious Pie is serious about their pizza. Wood-fired (is there any other way?) and perfectly chewy on the inside and lightly charred on the outside, the dough itself is a feat of nature. We got the buffalo mozzarella and tomato, ...

    Cafe Campagne

    2 reviews

Gayle and I had a very nice Lunch here on a very warm and sunny Seattle day. Cafe Campagne was actually the first restaurant that Gayle saw as we arrived in the Pike Place Market area on foot (with our luggage rolling along) from the Westlake Light Rail Station. I know what she wanted in terms of food and service, ...

    Starbucks - Pike Place Market

This is the very first Starbucks ever. You'll find no chairs, no tables, but a very long line going inside. Even the livery and logos are different. Tourist attraction, meet coffee addict.

    Beecher's Handmade Cheese

LOVED their crab & cheese sandwich. Picture this - Fresh crab from Pike Place Market just right across the street and the freshest cheese (which you can watch them make at the store) melted in between crispy, buttered panini pressed artisanal bread (also freshly baked). Can you get any better than that? I also got to sample their mac & ...

Pike Place Chowder - Pike Place Market

    24 reviews

I love that they have a sampler option - for just $10 you get to try 3 types of chowder with unlimited bread and crackers. My favorite was the dill and scallop one. I also want to give a shout out to Zach, who let me try out some other ones like their vegan chowder (which tasted more like soup).

    Pike Place Fish Market Inc

    18 reviews

Funnily enough, the long-running NBC comedy “Frasier” took place in Seattle, but never shot a scene here until its 100th episode. In the especially hectic episode, Frasier and Niles make a horrific journey from historic Pioneer Square all the way up to Seattle Center for a special radio event. Their travails took them to Regrade Park just south of downtown, ...

    Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream

Finally got a chance to visit Molly Moon's on my most recent trip to Seattle. And, I have to say, I'm a fan. The quality of the ice cream is top notch. Plenty of flavor options to choose from, and they are not stingy with you tasting them. Also, they happily sell their kiddie scoops to adults, which, is always ...
