    Space Needle

    242 reviews

I lived getting to see Seattle from the Space Needle. There is so much to look at in beautiful Seattle! Though I was there on a busy day, the lines don't take long at all. The elevators are very well organized.

Gas Works gives you a beautiful view of the city. You can also fly kites on the hill, host a picnic or even get married here! It's a great park where they hold Fourth of July celebrations.

    Green Lake Park

    23 reviews

Beautiful view and an easy walk- or more challenging run- around the perimeter. There are picnic spots and water access points to take part in non-motorised water sport- I wouldn't recommend swimming as the lake contains micro organisms which could give you an itch

    Cal Anderson Park

    5 reviews

Cal Anderson Park is one of the most popular parks on Capitol Hill. If Volunteer Park is where residents go to escape, Cal Anderson Park is where they come together. The park serves as the venue for numerous community events throughout the year. It is quite a large park as it covers about two city blocks. There is plenty to ...

    Pike Place Market

    282 reviews

Pike Place Market is an amazing farmer's market with so many different types of vendors and beautiful storefronts. It's great both when it's bustling with crowds and also before the crowds come. Located in a great area of Seattle - there's tons more to see in the area.

    Alki Beach Park

    39 reviews

Another beautiful Seattle spot on the west side. The beach gets very crowded on sunny days because it's definitely one of the nicer beaches in Seattle. Lots to see and do along the boardwalk! You can rent bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and more to kill time or you can just hang out and people watch. There are gorgeous views of ...

    NorthWest Outdoor Center

    3 reviews

If you want to enjoy Seattle summers on the lake, then this is where you should go to rent kayaks or paddle boards. I've done the kayaking thing, and it was so much fun! You are charged by the hour, and we rented the 2-person one and were just out on the water for a few hours, soaking up the ...

    Burke-Gilman Trail

    8 reviews

This trail winds throughout the city and offers scenic views including near Gas Works Park of downtown and the University of Washington. Be advised to follow normal trail rules (slow to the right, pass left) as many Seattleites use this trail for commuting (via bicycle).

    Golden Gardens Park

    15 reviews

Golden Gardens is a great beach and park. The views across the Sound to the Olympics are spectacular on a clear day, whether it's January or July. A big portion of the beach is sand before turning to small stones farther on. You can have fires on the beach, and there's a stream that is constantly being dammed by children. ...

    Woodland Park Zoo

    28 reviews

Seattle has a really awesome zoo! It's huge and there are a bunch of different animals to see. It's a bit sad to see these animals in captivity but they are hopefully being treated well and the organization is raising research money for the animals. My favorites were the gorillas, giraffes and the petting area with the goats. The bird ...

    REI Flagship Store

    10 reviews

Ah, at long last. I got to go aboard the REI mothership in Seattle's Capitol Hill district. This store (all three floors of it) was as excellent as I'd hoped, with a great customer service department and loads of choices for anything you need. Outside is a mini waterfall and stream with trails that you can test bikes and hiking ...

    Lake Union

    27 reviews

A local friend took me on an introductory tour of Seattle by canoeing along Lake Union. I had so much fun! It was great having a view of Seattle from the water. There were brief panicked and hilarious moments when I had to dodge large boats, but overall, it was a blast!

    Washington State Ferry

$8 for a roundtrip ticket to Bainbridge. Parked on the street nearby (Sunday free parking) and walked over to the terminal. Gorgeous day and boat was smooth going. There are some shops with food and coffee if you can't wait to eat at the nearby islands.

    Victoria Clipper

    21 reviews

Gayle and i recently took the Victoria Clipper from Pier 69 in Seattle to the Inner Harbour of Victoria BC (and back). It would have been faster to fly, but I also like trains or boats and the more leisurely and scenic journey that this represents. Of course this option took a little more planning and effort. We first flew ...

Huge park in South Seattle! This is where they have Seafair and a lot of other big events and festivals in the summer. Parking can be tricky but there is always street parking. Lake Washington is always filled with boats and yachts in the summertime. There are nice trails to fun on by the water too.
