I've never been in the opera house but I've passed a few times on long walks down Andrassy Street. It resembles other turn of the century architecture that I've seen in Vienna but in typical Hungarian style it's a bit more eccentric. The main feature that I noticed is the clam-shell-like awning over the main entrance.

There is a large community of Cuban immigrants in Budapest and this place is the epicenter! Most nights you'll find a live cuban band playing until late, people dancing salsa, and dance troupes preforming. The bar serves up great cocktails. And the bartenders put on their own shows juggling shakers and literally breathing fire! In the same building but downstairs ...

The Hungarian Parliament Building (Hungarian: Országház, which translates to House of the Country) is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube. It is currently the largest building in Hungary

Take a night cruise here and you won't regret it. Seeing the city at night, under the lights, is an amazing experience. Plenty of boat options to choose from. Make it happen. I added some pictures to see what its like.

The most modern of the bridges that cross the Danube in Budapest, the Elizabeth Bridge is probably the only one I didn't trek across during my visit. It's not the prettiest of the city's bridges, but it is interesting to see.

Very impacting museum on the horrors inflicted during WWII and the communist regime on the Hungarian people. Cold, metal and stone building that really brought home just how recent and still hearfelt these atrocities are for the Hungarians. War criminal photos lined the walkway as you leave, people still being sought for torture and acts of terror.

In 2003 a young Hungarian entrepreneur revived the brand, including its very ...
