Basic accomodations, but with a very personal host who really looks out for his guests. It's nothing worth instagram-ing, but it's comfortable and the location is amazing. Good restaurants and convenient transportation for sightseeing right outside the door. There's a bowl of sunglasses and a stash of umbrellas available, a decent continental breakfast spread, tour books, etc. You can store groceries, and trust that your belongings are safe here. Its something between a hostel and a miniature hotel...different than what you imagine when you hear B&B.

Smaller than I realized, but that's not a bad thing. You're really a guest here- you get personal attention and can make personal requests. Someone else even got a ride to a museum from the host. It's funky and homey, but clean and well-kept. The best part is really the location. There's a great cafe next door crammed with locals, sushi across the street, oh, and all of South Street a block away. The shops and style of South Street is not my favorite, but I'll go there for all the fantastic food options. And it's a definite Philly staple every visitor has to see. Not much further away is the Italian Market--another must-see corner of town. This is a much better option than a stuffy hotel. Here you get a filling breakfast, hand written directions, and local flavor all rolled into one.
