Pictures don't do Seville Cathedral justice. The view of the cathedral is breathtaking in person and gives the spectator a feeling of astonishment and bewilderment all at the same time. Well at least this was my experience. Built to demonstrate Seville's wealth, the Seville Cathedral superseded the Hagia Sophia and became the largest cathedral in the world. Now it's the largest Gothic cathedral, the third-largest church in the world, and a historical and architectural marvel.

The cathedral is the largest Gothic Church in Europe, and when you step in you will definitely feel it. The ceilings are amazingly high, and make the church seem even bigger when you are inside. Check out the altar, which is very impressive, and unsurprisingly massive. The cathedral also is the resting place of Christopher Colombus

If you wonder why the church has so much power (money = power), check out the Seville Cathedral. "It is the largest Gothic cathedral and the third-largest church in the world," according to Wikipedia. Inside you will find treasures of gold relics, crosses, crowns, jewels, walls, etc. You'll also find some beautiful carvings, ceilings, and patterns all over.

Построенный на месте бывшей мечети, оставшейся после пребывания здесь арабов, это самый крупный и величественный храм города. В нем, как считается, хранятся останки самого Колумба. Хотя по другим версиям он захоронен в Доминиканской Республике или на Кубе.

The Seville Cathedral (The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Sea) is one of the largest gothic buildings in the world. This is a Catholic church comprised of 80 chapels. It is filled with gold! Be sure to sit for a while to admire the elaborate choir stalls and the incredible carved wooden altarpiece. Unfortunately, photos are not allowed. Visit the tomb of Christopher Columbus and try to climb to the bell tower. If you are not up to the climb, just enjoy looking at it from outside...This is Seville's most popular landmark. A guided tour is recommended in order to study the details and get the full impact of this incredible building.

I really enjoyed the Gothic Cathedral, once you are inside, the decorations carved in the stones of the columns and ceilings are just wonderful. The height of the ceilings is amazing. Through the colored windows, shapes and colors filter the natural and artificial light forming interesting light games really worth seeing.
