This is only glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park that you can actually reach by car from the main road. It's an amazing spectacle of ice that is a lot of fun to walk around and gain various perspectives from along the trail. The hike takes you through multiple environment types (forest, high tundra, glacial) and the views are priceless. Imagine a glacier stretching literally to the horizon! Lace your boots up and get hiking.

This 4.5 mile coastal trail departing from Lowell Point was a true escape into the Alaskan wilderness. The trek weaves into dense green forest, onto deserted beaches, over rickety bridges, and through frigid streams to the sprawling North Beach. Set up camp here, and wake early to hike to various abandoned WWII sites like Fort McGilvray.
