    Grand Hyatt Shanghai

    Grand Hyatt Shanghai

    Class:
    4.5
    20 reviews
Excellent! - 94% of guests recommend

When the Grand Hyatt Shanghai was first opened, it was the highest hotel in the world as the building it is located, the JingMao Building, was the tallest building in the world. Very soon this title has been taken by others. The fact that this a first class hotel with a world class view to match does not change. As ...

    The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong

    The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong

    Class:
    5
    8 reviews
Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

This Ritz is everything that you'd expect from a Ritz. Well-appointed rooms and public spaces with good service and high quality food & beverage. The Starbucks next door is also a big plus. Less distinctively Chinese on the design than some other properties (e.g., The Peninsula) but a pleasant stay that can sometimes be downright affordable.

    Hyatt on the Bund

    Hyatt on the Bund

    Class:
    5
    7 reviews
Excellent! - 92% of guests recommend

The Hyatt on the Bund is everything you would expect from the hotel goliath, with a few extra surprises. Since no city can have two Grand Hyatts and the one in the SWFC (IFC?) beat them to the punch, the Hyatt on the Bund is to the caliber of a Grand Hyatt, with a few polished touches. The massive atrium ...

JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square

JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square

    Class:
    5
    7 reviews
Excellent! - 92% of guests recommend

The distinctive architecture of the JW Marriott may be the feature for which the hotel is best known, but the true highlights are waiting inside. Stepping off the elevator on the 38th floor lobby, visitors are greeted by a distinct scent that I wouldn’t be entirely averse to wearing as a perfume. The high ceilings, plush furniture and impressive staircase ...

    The Langham Yangtze Boutique

Excellent! - 91% of guests recommend

Just a block or two away from People's Square and a 20 minute walk from the bund this beautifully restored building is a lovely choice for a long weekend in the city. The heavily Art Deco themed hotel was reminiscent of what Shanghai might have been like in it's heyday in the 20's and 30's. Lots of rich reds and ...

    Les Suites Orient

    Les Suites Orient

    Class:
    5
    6 reviews

Lobby is on the 3rd floor, door man was not incredibly helpful in directing guests as to where they should go upon entering, so it can be a bit confusing. Reception is helpful and efficient. The entire hotel has a bit of a minimalistic/art deco vibe which I didn’t particularly enjoy, felt a bit sparse and not very welcoming. The ...

Very cool boutique hotel set in the heart of Jing’An district, pretty much directly downtown. Relaxing space with a very welcoming staff, there are less then 30 rooms in the entire hotel so it’s a very personalized stay. The entire hotel and restaurants were constructed using 100% locally sourced or recycled materials and it really adds something special to the ...

Don't let the seemingly constant construction outside deter you. The Four Seasons Shanghai is as peaceful a place as one will find in this bustling metropolis of 23 million people. The high ceilings and tall windows in the hotel lobby and first floor dining room lend the space an airy elegance that is at once regal and inviting. Afternoon tea ...

In the event that I can one day afford to live in an impeccably designed penthouse apartment, the suites of the JIA hotel offer a glimpse of how I imagine it would look (provided I am also able to hire a team of talented European designers). In the meantime, I will happily settle for a stay in one of the ...

    The Westin Bund Center

Excellent facilities, nice decor in a good location. The staff provided great service and were helpful when asked. The only downside was some of the room service, but not unexpected. I ordered eggs benedict that looked like mini versions but overcooked and crunchy. Almost seemed like what you might expect astronaut food to be. The hotel lobby/lounge has a nice ...

    Mansion Hotel

Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

This private residence-turned-hotel is dripping with old world charm from the gold phonographs to the deep jewel toned upholstered furniture. While these touches are great for some design enthusiasts, they do age the hotel in a way that others might not appreciate. The feeling of new luxury and updated amenities was not there for me as it is at other ...
