    Grand Hyatt Shanghai

    Grand Hyatt Shanghai

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    20 reviews
Excellent! - 93% of guests recommend

No longer the highest hotel in the world but still quite impressive from the very moment you enter the lobby. Rooms are modern with Chinese-influence and have fantastic views. The location is a little inconvenient for tourists but works well if you have business on this side of the river.

This is an amazing property. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the city. This is one of the best Peninsulas on the planet. I fell in love with the Peninsula Shanghai from the moment I entered. The location on the Bund is perfect and the property does a great job of balancing the Art Deco traditions of the city ...

    The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong

    Hotel Class:

Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

This Ritz is everything that you'd expect from a Ritz. Well-appointed rooms and public spaces with good service and high quality food & beverage. The Starbucks next door is also a big plus. Less distinctively Chinese on the design than some other properties (e.g., The Peninsula) but a pleasant stay that can sometimes be downright affordable.

The PuLi Hotel and Spa is a serene urban hideaway styled with reclaimed grey brick and sleek black glass. Rows of tall bamboo shield much of the building’s exterior from passersby while a curved drive entices you away from the busy street and into the dark marble walkways. The Kerry Hotel Pudong is unquestionably my top hotel choice for business travelers. In fact, even as a non-businessperson, I’d have a hard time turning down an invitation to move into this hotel permanently. Between the fitness facilities—some of the largest and best equipped in Shanghai and the numerous F&B outlets, it’s got everything you could ever want or need. ...

Located a few short blocks away from the Langham XTD is the 88 XTD Executive residence. Walking in the lobby you feel like you are in 1930’s Shanghai. The distinctive architecture of the JW Marriott may be the feature for which the hotel is best known, but the true highlights are waiting inside. Stepping off the elevator on the 38th floor lobby, visitors are greeted by a distinct scent that I wouldn’t be entirely averse to wearing as a perfume. There are few places in China one could conscionably call “eco friendly”. Happily, the URBN Hotel, in downtown Shanghai is one of them. Even the hotel’s location is in line with its understated appeal—the natural wood-fronted structure is on a relatively quiet street that is conveniently close to the city center, without being loud or surrounded by high rises (a ...

If you are not immediately won over by the multi-colored LED lights illuminating the bathtubs at the new Andaz hotel, perhaps the complimentary soft drinks and mini-fridge munchies will do it for you. (They certainly did for me.) The highly stylized public spaces of the hotel are all wood-paneling meets retro-space age. For now, the hotel shows its infancy on ...

The classification of a hotel—and particularly a luxury hotel—as boutique, can understandably cause some apprehension. Will your accommodations be intimate and non-traditional or simply fall on the wrong side of quirky? The Waterhouse Hotel on Shanghai’s South Bund undoubtedly ups the ante among China’s boutique hotels. With only 19 guestrooms, the space feels cozy, but still contemporary and conceptual, thanks ...

It's in one of the most remarkable buildings on The Bund, and has managed to preserve the feel of old Shanghai in it's interior decor.
