    Grand Hyatt Shanghai

    Grand Hyatt Shanghai

    Class:
    4.5
    20 reviews
Excellent! - 94% of guests recommend

This hotel was the first hotel in a megastructure (has now been passed by the Finance Tower) and certainly has great views. Rooms, breakfast, service and amenities are all five star, but the flow of people passing through the lobby to reach Cloud 9 bar on the 87th floor is a drawback, as is the immediate surroundings at ground level.

    Class:

Excellent! - 94% of guests recommend

While its sister hotel, the Grand Hyatt is grand and traditional, Park Hyatt Shanghai is refreshing, chic, and modern. Although the hotel occupies higher floors of the World Finance Center, the Park Hyatt never did get to claim the highest hotel title at the time when it opened. Nevertheless, it is still one of the highest in the world, offering ...

    The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong

    The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong

    Class:

    8 reviews
Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

This Ritz is everything that you'd expect from a Ritz. Well-appointed rooms and public spaces with good service and high quality food & beverage. The Starbucks next door is also a big plus. Less distinctively Chinese on the design than some other properties (e.g., The Peninsula) but a pleasant stay that can sometimes be downright affordable.

Pretty good North Bund location, great for wandering around the Bund area on a nice day and over to East Nanjing Shopping Street. Not exactly central but very close to many of the traditional Shanghai tourist stops. All the rooms have views of both sides of the Huangpu River which is pretty rare and quite stunning to see the contrast ...

JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square

    Class:

Excellent! - 92% of guests recommend

The distinctive architecture of the JW Marriott may be the feature for which the hotel is best known, but the true highlights are waiting inside. Stepping off the elevator on the 38th floor lobby, visitors are greeted by a distinct scent that I wouldn’t be entirely averse to wearing as a perfume. The high ceilings, plush furniture and impressive staircase ...

Aside from the extremely central location, the Portman Ritz-Carlton is a pretty standard high-end business hotel. Located on the western edge of the Former French Concession, The Longmont is a nice option for business travelers who don't like staying right downtown. Cool rooms designed by Super Potato. Along with the Langham, this is one of only two hotels located in Xintiandi. I prefer Andaz to the Langham. If you are more price conscious and want to remain in the XTD area, the Ascott on Huaihai road is just down the street a ways and also quite well located, although not as ...

Bold contemporary revamp of a 1930s warehouse on the South Bund which reflects Shanghai's confidence as a major world city. As you might expect, the interior scheme is minimal, with the pieces of classic modern Scandinavian furniture as the focal point. Even if you don't stay here, pop in for a drink on the rooftop terrace.

The Marriott City Centre is one brand new hotel. Located just north of People’s Square it’s definitely in downtown Shanghai.
