    M on the Bund

    4
    10 reviews

M on the Bund is a cool, high-end restaurant with great views of The Bund itself (if you get a table by the vindows that is). The food is very good, but is served in fairly small portions. They often have lunch deals which are good value. This is a place for people looking for a high-end lunch or dinner ...

Right next to Big Bamboo. A bit more upscale. Like the leather chairs. Also has sports on. And offers deep fried pork knuckles (the heart stopper) with pretty decent beers.

The steak was disappointing but the lemon tart was awesome. The dessert will be served with fireworks which makes this place perfect for proposing or celebrating.

    DinTaiFung

Shanghai Xiao Lung Bao (soup buns) at its best. A popular chain with outlets all over (i.e. HKG, SFO, LAX, TPE), there is a valid reason for its popularity. Consistently good food, friendly service, clean environment makes for successful chain of a specialty cuisine

    Wagas

    3.5
    11 reviews

This was my home away from home while I was living in Shanghai. Relaxing atmosphere, delicious Western food, friendly staff, and free wifi! Wagas was one of my favorite spots to grab a meal with friends, get some work done, or simply read a book quietly by myself. If you're just traveling through Shanghai and you don't want to rack ...

    Baker & Spice

    4
    5 reviews

Ever in search of a decent pastry in Shanghai, I've stopped in Baker & Spice several times for a piece of carrot cake and a few hours of free wi-fi. Both the cake and internet access are excellent, however the Portman location tends to be pretty noisy, so it is not really the best place to get work done. I ...

    De Refter

    5
    4 reviews

A beer bar needn't be fancy. A beer bar needs beer--high quality, reasonably priced beer. (Oh and comfortable seating and decent noshing options don't hurt either.) De Refter has all the essentials without alienating any of Shanghai's alcohol enthusiasts. It's not a man cave of a sports bar nor is it a hoighty toighty cocktail bar (of which there are ...

    Kommune

    4.5

Although difficult for the uninitiated to find among the back alley lanes of Taikang Lu, Kommune is worth searching out for not only its simple, yet tasty food and drinks, but also for its unique setting at the epicenter of Shanghai's creative quarter. Outdoor seating is usually overflowing with artsy locals and hipster expats, but don't forget to check out ...

Jia Jia Tang Bao Huai Hai Dian

Best xiao long bao I ever eaten. If you think dintaifung is good, this tastes like heaven. Don't be afraid to pay 99yuan for its crab xiao long bao because you will regret for not ordering that. Don't forget to order the sauce.

    Ajisen Ramen

    3.5
    5 reviews

The kimchi beef ramen is pretty good but not really spicy despite the spicy level written in the menu. The enoki mushroom rolled with sliced beef is good too. However, you will have to call the waitress pretty often to fill you the tea.
