Din tai fung is a Taiwanese chain restaurant that has outlets and fans all over the world. I'm one of them! Very yummy soup dumplings. In other cities like Sydney and Singapore, the wait for a table can be long but we never had to wait here. Score.Popular withFoodiesFamilies
Perennial expat favorite, 1221 may be a little hard to find (I wandered around in the area for 15 minutes the first time I went), but the Shanghaiese food is consistently very good across the menu, and quite affordable. There's an English menu, and the duck entrees in particular are fantastic. Current reports state that it's getting fairly tourist-saturated.Popular withFoodies
This was a pretty cool little restaurant that was right next to a lake within the Jing'An park. I had refreshing drinks during a hot summer day and coupled with the background noise of a park and music, it made for a very satisfying outing. After having drinks here, we went right outside the park to grab some Haagen-Dazs.
