After reading the reviews, I was rather hesitant when we booked at the Sheraton MV for our ski vacation. The rates were about $400 a night, but with spg cash and points we secured a room for 4000 spg points and $60 per night. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. All of the employees at the hotel were very nice, and when we told them that we had just flown in from Hawaii overnight and were very tired, the front desk called Housekeeping to expedite our check in despite our early arrival at 10am-- normal checkin is at 3pm. We got a one-bedroom suite (not the premium category) which means that we got a kitchenette, not a full kitchen, which was just perfect for the two of us. There was a mid size refrigerator, with all the kitchen accessories-- knives, cutting board, blender, plates, utensils. The bedroom had a queen size bed and small closet, The living/dining room was spacious, with a gas fireplace in the corner and a patio. This room had a pull out sofa, and we decided to sleep on the pull out in front of the fireplace! the bathroom was very nice and large. There was also a convenient washer/dryer in the unit. The stats stated the room was 560sf but it appeared bigger. We did not have any temperature issues as stated in the other reviews, so it appears this issue has been corrected. We also did not have any noise issues as other have mentioned. We did not use the fitness facility but there are several jacuzzis, a pool, steam, sauna, and fitness room. One of the best things about this place is that there is FREE parking in the heated garage, and super convenient since the garage elevator is the same elevators that lead to the rooms. No exiting to a separate building in the snow! There is also a convenient ski rental shop in the hotel that offered a 30% discount for hotel guests. The location was very convenient to the highway, and it took is 20 minutes to get to Vail, and only 5 minutes to the Westin Avon, which has a gondola to Beaver Creek. As others have stated there is no restaurant or bar on the property, but there are great restaurants in Avon and Vail, so we probably wouldnt have eaten at the hotel anyway. We REALLY loved our stay at this hotel, and it exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to return! NOTE: This is a Starwood vacation ownership property, so yes, they are attempting to ask you to go on a presentation on their newest property, the Westin Avon. (We did go to a presentation, and yes, it is a gorgeous property, and yes, we decided to buy at the Steamboat location!)
