Sheraton quality and standards. If you are looking for dependability in quality and service the Sheraton is a great choice. I stayed here once on a business trip and the week after I stayed in the one in Philadelphia and honestly I couldn't tell the difference.

We stay at this hotel often when we come to New York for a weekend. We always use points, so room rate is not an issue. I like this hotel. The rooms are not big but clean, and I like their heavenly bed. If you get a room on a high floor you often get nice view. We usually get late check-out (4 pm). The best part about this hotel is that it is in walking distance from Times Square, Theater District, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue, MOMA.Recommended for:Business Travelers

I actually kinda liked this place. After walking by here a lot on past trips, finally stayed here using points. Even though it's in a busy area, all I got in the room was a lot of white noise.
Room decor is not that impressive, but I loved that the hotel was near the theater district, but not swarming with Times Square busy-ness. Enough subway stops were around that we could easily access and use public transportation. Service was very good.
Bonus? Visitor center was right across the street.

Mum and I stayed here for free with points my dad had available. We were put on a floor where construction was happening all day and into the evenings. It could be loud in the mornings, but we had ear plugs so it wasn't so bad. The floor in the hallway on this floor were covered in protective plastic. The room itself was a decent size - it's the biggest one I've stayed at in Manhattan so far. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Hilton just down the street, as we were attending a conference there. The convenience was fantastic. I don't know what it would have been like if we'd paid, but for a points trade-in, it's definitely worth checking out for proximity to wherever you need to be and size of the rooms. My only complaint was that their "gym and pool" aren't in the building - they're across the street. In the middle of winter, I don't really feel like having to trudge across the street to get my hair wet. Staff were courteous and professional. The restaurant's drink prices were very high - mum didn't care about that, but if you're on a budget, do not stay in for drinks.

I Pricelined a midtown hotel room and got the Sheraton New York. Decent, not sure if I'd rate it a 4 star but the bed was comfy and the room bigger than most others in the city, so all in all, not bad.
It's very close to the subways and convenient, so in my book, that's a win on Priceline! :)
