Have stayed here a few times for events at Stanford University. A standard Sheraton that has nice rooms and well kept grounds. I don't normally like staying here as you have to pay a lot for parking, wifi, and breakfast. There are a ton of hotel options in this area so I think you can almost always find a better deal, but this Sheraton is in a great location if you can afford it.

Nice Sheraton. Location is very good - a few minutes walk from downtown Palo Alto and a great launching pad for a run on Stanford Campus. The lobby is very nice, but the rooms are pretty standard - clean and reasonably comfortable. As is Starwood's way, they charge you a lot for wi-fi and parking. They have a pretty nice pool area (much nicer than the Westin, next door), though I didn't have much of a chance to enjoy it :(

The Sheraton Palo Alto hotel gets quite a bit of traffic from conferences and from visitors of the handful of headquarter offices in the area. As one of the nicer options in the area, this hotel fills up fast so if you are planning to be in the area and want to book this hotel, I would book early. The hotel's lobby has a strong garden feel to it with lots of trees and plants. the rooms wrap all around a pool. The pool area is simple and nice and you can order drinks out there from the bar as well. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with the standard Sheraton furnishings. The hotel also tons of paid parking which is convenient if you have a car. The service is friendly and they will do their best to help you will your needs. Definitely one of the top picks for the area.

Based on the bar.. and the bar alone!
I like to drink. And like the average guy I like the selection of ones supply to match any one of my many moods or tastes.
They love to serve drinks.
They love to feed you as well.
And they will sometimes feed you for free.
The last time I was there they had Blue Moon on tap, garlic fries to die for and quiche over a hot burner free for any adventurous enough.
A match made in heaven.
