The PDX Sheraton is one of my favorite Portland airport area hotels. It's large enough to accommodate conferences (which it often does), but well-staffed enough that you don't feel like you are lost in a sea of dazed travelers (which often happens in properties of this size). It has a couple hundred rooms and a handful of suites, and as is the case with most of Portland's airport hotels, the majority of guests here are in town on business.
The rooms are a bit on the small side and simply appointed with a 1970s feel, but are kept clean and well-maintained and all come with Starbucks coffee makers. There's also a saltwater pool and a video poker room on site.
The Sheraton is the closest hotel to the airport, but the rooms are well-soundproofed against landing planes (plus PDX doesn't get many late-night flights).

I come to Portland fairly often to visit my Son. When Gayle isn't coming along, I use Hotwire to snag a good Hotel Deal. I choose 3 Stars and Above and have not yet been disappointed with the what I have received for the money.
I made the last blind Hotwire Reservation after seeing a 3.5 Star property with a high customer satisfaction percentage. I thought: Hot Damn, the Aloft at Cascade Station was available! After I accepted, it turned out that I would be staying at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel instead. Despite my initial mild disappointment, I figured it was another Starwood Property, I had a nice very recent stay at the Sheraton Eau Claire in Calgary, and my 2 nights was only going to run me $140 Total (including taxes).
Once I figured out the initially confusing road layout around Cascade Station, the Sheraton became fairly easy to find along the Frontage Road. From the outside and within the Convention area, the Hotel looks a bit dated. However, the Lobby and Bar Area was nicely business hip and the room was very comfortable and roomy.
My Son and I had a nice time. We slept well, the room was reasonably sound insulated, temperature control worked well, the big flat screen TV provided welcome entertainment, and the shower water was strong and hot. Hotel Staff were also very service oriented and friendly. In fact, as were leaving the Room for the last time, it was my Son that reminded me to leave a room tip for a stay that was well appreciated.

I've always enjoyed visiting the Sheraton Hotel at Portland Airport. For a relatively large hotel it has an intimate atmosphere ideal for meeting my visiting out-of -state family in the lobby and the restaurant.
For a hotel of this size it has an unrushed and warm atmosphere; quite remarkable considering the bustle going on just outside and overhead.
The Sheraton is on the airport grounds; the closest hotel to the terminal, handy if you’re anxious about catching your flight. It’s an ideal place if you’re a visitor to Portland who doesn’t want to bother with the city hotels, are in transit off a twelve hour flight, or if you just want an affordable room to rest.
The hotel does accommodate events as a business hotel. It has all the amenities you’d expect including an indoor swimming pool and fitness center (located on the ground floor away from the lobby), and business center. The staff are accommodating, friendly and professional.
Dining options at Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel include a restaurant and a bar/lounge. Room service is available 24 hours a day. Recreational amenities include an indoor pool, a spa tub, a sauna, and a fitness facility. This 3.5 star property has a business center. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. The property has an airport shuttle, which is complimentary. Guest parking is complimentary. Additional property amenities include gift shops/newsstands and express check out. This is a smoke free property.
Coffee/tea makers and minibars are offered. Bathrooms feature hair dryers. Televisions have cable channels. Rooms also include irons/ironing boards. Guestrooms are all non smoking.
