I remember way back in the 90s when this was an Embassy Suites. Then it was painted some odd, Neapolitan color scheme, and then it finally settled into its current (and tasteful) state. The front office supervisor, Edin gave me a generous tour of the property and I was able to enjoy the improvements that came with the hotel’s change of management. I checked out a balcony suite (balconies on high-rise hotels in Dallas is a rarity) and while the vantage point is scarcely big enough for two people, you can enjoy a great view of Downtown. The suite is spacious and comfortable, with lots of amenities of convenience including a wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, and such. They also have a combination indoor/outdoor pool for goobers like myself who would love to spend time swimming in and out of the building.Recommended for:

I'm sure this is a good place to stay. I'm just sure of it. After all, it has the word "suites" in the title. So that means the rooms have got to be better than average, right? Well, maybe. If the rest of the hotel says anything, then the rooms are probably your average suites. Which means they're more than bedrooms (and that's about it). The hotel was fine, the staff was nice, and the restaurant was just as expected. But I didn't get the feeling that it was anything special (or horrible). It was clean and well-kept, but I just wasn't blown away like I expected. I'm sure it would be fine for a family, business people, or just about anyone that just wants a nice place to fall asleep.Recommended for:

The fact that they promote local breweries here won me over right away. I’m a huge fan of the local craftsman, especially when it comes to beer. So be sure and check out the Peticolas, Community, and Four Corners selection at the bar. All three breweries are within a 2 mile radius of the hotel and the concierge can set you up with a tour if you’re so inclined. As far as the hotel itself, it meets all the criteria for comfort and convenience. I felt the fitness room was a bit small but I like how they got creative with the indoor/outdoor pool. Kids would have a lot of fun swimming through the passageway to the outside.Recommended for:

I felt the air of professionalism immediately from the staff here. They were over the top helpful with others who had lost their keys or someone who needed help with bags. There's also a special Club floor with free drinks and food (you will need your room key to even get off the elevator onto this floor). I happened to ride the elevator with the concierge and he made sure to tell me his name and ask me if there was anything I lacked. The views are phenomenal from the higher floors; make sure you ask for the view of downtown. This hotel is in touch with its location: there's a cowboy theme, which I'm not fond of, but it was done quite artfully, capturing the beauty of nature. They also offer beers from local breweries, which impressed me. Kids will love the indoor/outdoor pool with a way to swim in and out of the hotel. Great hotel all around, even if it did have well-taken photos of cows displayed.Recommended for:
