There’s a lot going on when you step through the doors of Sheraton Taipei. Between the hotel’s nine restaurants, event venues, and 688 rooms, there are always people around the expansive property. A combination of the hotel’s location, reasonable prices, and restaurant selection make it a common destination for lunchtime meetings or afternoon tea gatherings. If you have a Starwood membership or plan to stay on the Executive Floor, the benefits here are above and beyond the upgrades offered by other hotels—really quite worth it. Each room on the Executive Floors gets its own 24-hour butler who will pick you up in the hotel lobby, bring everything upstairs for you, and basically wait on you hand-and-foot. If that weren’t enough, you also get access to the Sheraton’s Executive Lounge, (the largest I’ve seen in any Taipei hotel) which is very well-equipped and features magazines, newspapers, coffee/tea, breakfast and afternoon tea snacks, computers, and small meeting rooms. Exercise buffs will appreciate its large, well-equipped gym and rooftop pool. Breakfast in the huge Kitchen 12 international buffet is a real treat, too!

Sheraton’s in a very convenient location, being right outside the Shandao Temple MRT station. It’s one of the biggest hotels in Taipei, with lots of rooms and lots of different restaurants. Maybe the most famous is the French restaurant, Antoine Room, which has quite a long history. It’s rather ornately decorated, and feels very high class. I went with a group of friends. When you order the crepes, they have a special little show where they dim all the lights in the restaurant and then light the brandy on fire. They assemble it right next to your table. It’s pretty impressive. In terms of the rooms, they are kind of generic in furnishing and design, not much to write home about. The bathtubs are large.Recommended for:History Buffs

Taipei has a handful of top end luxury hotels to choose from and the options keep growing. I highly recommend the Sheraton Taipei because of its accessible location to public transportation and extremely compassionate staff. I broke my ankle during my stay and the staff went above and beyond to make me as comfortable as they could. They took care of me in the club lounge while my friend went to explore the city and always made sure I was fed and comfortable. Every member of the staff that saw me came to check on me. They sent the hotel nurse to my room, provided me with a mercedes to the airport and had the concierge help me with getting a last minute business class flight back to the states. The club lounge had a selection of food and drink options that we definitely took advantage of. I would highly recommend a stay with the Sheraton Taipei
