Adults only infinity pool!!! That is a HUGE plus at this hotel. This is the hotel to stay at for the best location right on the beach. Their buffet brunch can't be beat, so many options like loco moco benedict, miso soup, omelette station, etc. Rumfire is also one of the best bars around. The rooms are on the old and small side, but the location and amenities make up for it!!

We stayed up in one of the oceanview rooms and it was sure worth it. The view we had was so good. The restaurant was delicious and we ate breakfast there everyday. My only complaint is that the pool was always super duper crowded but I know there's nothing hotel staff could've done about that. Overall we had five star service all the way through and the beach access was absolutely fabulous.

One of my favorite beach front properties in Oahu, the Sheraton Waikiki is very centrally located and is walking distance to everything Waikiki. Love the newly renovated infinity pool (but alas gets so crowded). The rooms are spacious and the views from the ocean views rooms makes me so happy and not want to leave...need not for air-conditioning...just open leave the lanai doors open!

The Sheraton Waikiki recently completed a $187 million make-over to freshen up all aspects of this iconic hotel of the Starwood group. It is situated right on the beach at Waikiki, and is next door to the Grand Dame of Waikiki hotels, The Royal Hawaiian, which is also a Starwood property.
With over 1600 rooms and 80% of them with a good view, you can't go wrong with staying here. Many of the rooms have a Diamond Head view with the Waikiki city lights, and that is the kind of room we got upgraded to as a Starwood Gold member.
The hotel has its own group of shops, and has several restaurant choices in-house, from casual to upscale. There is a Peet's coffee and even a Baskins-Robbins concession near the pools.
The pool area has been redesigned, with 2 jacuzzis that can fit 20 people each with a spectacular view, and a huge pool complex with water slide and various sub-pools. The most dramatic is the ocean edge pool that seems to meld with the pacific waters of Waikiki.
Rooms are average size, but have been updated nicely, and Sheraton has one of the nicest and most comfortable beds in the industry (and I have stayed in over 100 different hotel properties in the past 3 years, so take my word for it.) Our room had a flat screen, college-like fridge, desk, and we got complimentary WiFi as a gold member. ($14 a day normally). It also had an odd shuttered pass through to the bathroom? I guess for those honeymooners who want to watch each other take a shower while getting "ready" on the bed?
Every room does have a balcony with 2 chairs and a table.
They have a multi-story parking garage that is shared with the Royal Hawaiian guests. Self-park is $25/day, valet is $33/day.
The common areas are spacious, and there is a large PC work area in the lobby, with 7 PCs, a printer for boarding passes and free lobby area WiFi and 2 long tables with plenty of power outlets for your laptop.
The hotel is family friendly or romance friendly, or even great for a business/pleasure mix. Rooms are not cheap, with rack rates from $435 to $850 a night, but almost nobody pays rack rates, and you can find cheaper deals at special times. For instance, in April, a King city view is going for $199.
In my case, I got the room for free. with my Starwood Preferred Guest points. Under their system, this property is 12K points per night, when available, and the fifth night is free, with no blackout dates.

This hotel is right on the water, has a big (and very popular!) pool, and is pretty polished. Given that it has more than 1500 rooms, they do a reasonable job trying to make the service feel personal. The rooms were very nice, and some have great ocean views (though ours did not).
I didn't appreciate the $20 "resort fee," which was supposed to cover things like one free bottle of water per day, and "fruit service," at the pool. Otherwise, we had a good stay.

The room is nice and clean and spacious and modern and very comfortable. The views are great, the sunset is wonderful, the breeze is wonderful. The pools.. the infinity pools.. the large infinity pools are very very luxurious. Not to mention all the wonderful wo.. erm, I mean other guests are very polite. Hahahaha! Of course minus one star because I'm not the only one who likes this place. If you're too slow for the pool, elevator, or anything else of importance you'll be crowded out by all the tourists.
Dining options at Sheraton Waikiki include a restaurant and a bar/lounge. Room service is available during limited hours. Recreational amenities include an outdoor pool and a fitness facility. This 4.0 star property has a business center and offers limo/town car service and audio visual equipment. Wedding services and tour assistance are available. Additional property amenities include a poolside bar, a coffee shop/café, and valet parking. A total renovation of this property was completed in December 2009.
Beds come with pillowtop mattresses. Refrigerators and coffee/tea makers are offered. Bathrooms feature shower/tub combinations, makeup/shaving mirrors, designer toiletries, and hair dryers. Guestrooms offer voice mail and in room safes (accommodate laptops). Flat panel televisions have video game consoles and pay movies. Air conditioned rooms also include desks, electronic check out, electronic/magnetic keys, and irons/ironing boards. Guests may request a turndown service, hypo allergenic bedding, and wake up calls. Housekeeping is available. Cribs (infant beds) and rollaway beds are available on request.
